Ek-ong kaar sat naam kartaa purakh nirbha-o nirvair

akaal moorat ajoonee saibhaN gur parsaad.

ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ

ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ ॥

ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ॥੧॥

TRANSLATION

There is One Creator God

Truth is His Name

He is the Creator, Protector, Without Fear, No Enmity, The First Entity,

Never born, Self-perpetuating; With the Guru’s grace:

Repeat / Recite!

True in the beginning, True Through the Ages,

True even now and says Nanak will be True in the future

The Mul Mantra is the root mantra, and the first verse of the Japji. It is said that all the knowledge of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib can be constilled to the Japji and the knowledge of the Japji is constilled in the Mul Mantra. This mantra will bring you to your destiny and lets your soul guide you.
