NAM SATYA’S DECEMBER PICKS

I have felt inspired to share some monthly picks, to give you another layer of inspiration, and honestly I personally just love these kind of things. Getting recommendations from people I trust always feels expanding and helpful.

For a long time I have been thinking about making something like this actually, but I never got to it. I think it’s a bit like the self esteem thing, who would want to listen to me or take my recommendations? kind of thing. Well if my last week doing daily stories on Instagram aka NSKTV has taught me anything, it’s that people actually loves to know, they want to hear, and that I think we should all be sharing more of ourselves.

So here we go… These are the things I watched, wore, listened to etc. in December…

WHAT I LISTENED TO… Basant Ki Var

This mantra brings prosperity. It’s a “green mantra” bringing newness and freshness, and it is also a healing mantra.

I have been listening to this version by White Sun — which is dreamy, etheric and absolutely puts me in the right mood every single time. It’s just on repeat on a mantra box at this point. Having mantras around you works as a constant elevation of the frequency and changes your consciousness in a subtle yet powerful way.

WHAT I READ… Autobiography of a Yogi

This is the story of Yogananda, a yogi and saint who helped to bring yoga to the west. His personal story about how he met his teacher, what he learned from him and general yawning for a spiritual life and “to meet God” gives us an insight into the development of a true spiritual master, what it takes, the importance having a teacher, the miracles that comes from living in close communion with the creator… Oh and Lizzo also recommended this book in an IG postrecently☺️ It’s a classic that I can reread over and over again, and if you haven’t read it yet I highly recommend you get started.

WHAT I WATCHED… Unmistaken Child

A documentary about a students search for the next incarnation of his master. A touching and incredibly beautiful movie, that I highly recommend.

WATCH

WHAT I WORE… Skall Recycled Cashmere sweater

Seriously this sweater is so high quality, never pillage (and I even sleep in one, and it really doesn’t pillage!). Skall is a danish brand and I know the sister behind personally. They are lovely women with a strong sense of style and a vision. Really in awe of what they have created.

WHAT MOVED ME… Beating procrastination

Sometimes all it takes in a little instagram post to nudge you in the right direction😏

When I heard this affirmation: I get it done now, it completely transformed how I relate to my “to dos” and since then the immediacy has helped me beat procrastination and really get the things done I want to do, which I actually think is the ultimate self care for me. Having a long to do list feels overwhelming and feeling like I’m not moving on the things I want to get done doesn’t feel great. Maybe not the strategy for everyone, but for me this has been really helpful and insightful and it moved me this month.

WHAT I MADE… Ayurvedic rice porridge

Yummy, christmas-y, perfect for the colder months. I have been making and eating this rice porridge a low the past month.
