THE MONTHLY ESSAYS
I write a monthly essay that is being send out to Immersive members every first day of the month.
On this page you can read all previous issues.
Enjoy!
OCTOBER
Welcome to October in the membership! We’re starting the month with a powerful New Moon Solar Eclipse day tomorrow, October 2nd.
The eclipses are powerful events that can have an immediate and long-lasting effect on our lives.
We are right now between two eclipses (they always come in pairs—the first one was on the last full moon we had on September 18, and the next one as mentioned is tomorrow).
This is a time to pay great attention. It might also be possible that you are going through a painful time.
Eclipses usher in change. But change isn’t always so pleasant. If we stay aware and welcoming to it, then we are more likely to move through it unharmed. If we resist or if we are unprepared, eclipses might be presenting us with some really difficult moments.
It is best not to make any major decisions right now. Let the time pass and the dust settle. Circumstances will be arranged—you don’t have to actively participate. Wait a few weeks before taking any new actions or decisions.
Keep calm and keep it light is my motto for eclipses.
NEW MOON IN LIBRA
As we are meeting the New Moon in Libra tomorrow let’s take a look at the themes at play right now. This will give us an opportunity to examine those areas of our lives, as the energy is extra favorable right now.
Beauty
The sign of Libra is ruled by Venus (I feel a sigh and a relaxation come though me when I hear this). Venus lets us focus on beauty and the pleasant things in life, but is less materialistic and tangible in the sign of Libra.
One of the best teachings I’ve ever received was from my teacher Guru Jagat who said to make art out of everything in your life.
The attention to details, the thoughtfulness and the focus that comes from making an effort, creating something of beauty is absolutely divine and pleasing to the Creator.
Now where this is sometimes taken too far is when we become superficial and based our opinions solely on what is on the surface or how something or someone looks. When we are unable to accept or see the beauty in ourselves fx and feel we are only of worth when we alter ourselves, this in my opinion is a crime against the Creator.
True beauty, as we know, is beyond the surface. But the act of making an effort and “beautifying” can be absolutely pleasing and even holy.
Relationships
Libra rules partnership and relationships in general. This is the first sign of the zodiac where “the other” becomes more important than ourselves.
Libra doesn’t thrive if our partners aren’t happy.
You could take a look at your natal chart as see in which house the sign of Libra falls in your chart. This can give you an idea about what area of your life is most effected by this energy.
Fx. my midheaven is in Libra (10th house). This is about work and when I work with other people the success of the project or work relation is dependent on the happiness of my partner(s). If I work with someone and they aren’t happy, there’s no way that I will be enjoying the benefits and result of that work. (You can easily google what a house means and represents. Put the two together and draw your conclusions).
SEPTEMBER
Fall is (almost) here!
A new chapter of the year opens, and this month marks the transition into fall with the Autumnal Equinox on September 22nd.
Things are winding down a little bit, and with the movement of the sun into the last half of the astrological wheel, we start to meet signs of introspection, higher spiritual attainment and completion.
This is also harvest time.
We’ve done the work, and now it is time to enjoy the rewards.
I’ve said this many times but if we “do the work”—actual work, our spiritual work, social work, family work etc. in the first half of the year, leading up to the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, then the rest of the year can simply flow.
This is a time to enjoy the flow, and the course you’ve already set.
Usually around this time though, we can enjoy a sense of “getting back to work”. Maybe things got a little chaotic over the summer (did we have a Brat Summer? 😂 Let’s get ready to transition to Demure Fall😄), and now is a good moment to take advantage of the Virgo energy, and get things back into order.
Unlike the spring time where we sometimes have to push through, be very determined, and really put in the extra time and effort, this time of year might see a different kind of determination, one that feel a little bit more natural and easeful.
We’re not morphing out of the harshness of winter but as we have been enjoying the summer times and all that comes with it, maybe now we start to feel sufficiently “feed” and satisfied with “just having fun”, and we actually long for some daily routine, to get back to our daily life, tasks we might look forward to and perhaps even a bit more seriousness too.
Our animal brains know instinctually that we need to prepare for the months ahead, and although this doesn’t completely translate to our modern-day lives, or is a necessity, all is aligned for us to start gathering what and whom we need for the darker times.
Take inventory
The fall equinox is the time of the year where we benefit from “taking inventory”. This is the month of doing our accounting, and I can almost picture us all with a scale in front of us (libra = scale / balance), measuring out and weighing our past year decisions.
So take a moment this month to ask yourself…
—What was my biggest accomplishment this year so far?
—Was my efforts worth the outcome?
—Where did I receive the most benefits or success? Why do I think that is?
—Besides work accomplishments, what other accomplishments did I enjoy this year?
—What’s my financial health like right now? How do I want it to be?
—What did I thouroughly enjoy this year? What’s my “joy” highlight?
—Did I experience a spiritual “highlight”, and what are some of my memorable spiritual experiences this year?
Answering these questions, and taking inventory like this can be enormously beneficial to help structure our daily life.
Was there anything that surprised you about your answers?
Sometimes we don’t necessarily know what will bring the biggest results for us. Maybe it wasn’t the strategy or effort that you thought was going to give you the biggest rewards that actually did.
Knowing these things can be so helpful in order to know better where to place our focus.
And of course don’t forget the joyful and the spiritually significant moments—those are actually the true work to focus on in this incarnation.
I genuinely look forward to spend time with you during this next month in the membership, and see you soon for the New Moon in Virgo (it’s on Tuesday here in Europe so I moved our class to the 3rd. Check the schedule below for more details).
AUGUST
This is without a doubt the month that I am most excited about this year!
As you may know, we are currently in an 8 year (2024, 2+0+2+4=8).
8 is significant in the way that it relates to the pranic body, in the ten yogic bodies system.
8 represents and helps to unlock more prana, energy and prosperity.
It is also the number of infinite ( ∞ ).
In this month we will meet the Lion’s Gate (I so wish that I could teach on this day but I will be in the middle of White Tantric Yoga at the European Yoga Festival in France—let me know if you will be there).
Lions Gate happens every year on the 8th of August. This powerful day has been celebrated for eons, and is an important celestial moment when the sun is in Leo, and Orion's belt, the star Sirius, and the Earth all fall into alignment. Sirius is said to be our spiritually sustaining star, while the Sun sustains our planet and physical body.
Use this powerful alignment for manifestation
I know, it’s kind of a repeating pattern, and there’s a lot of talk about “manifestation”. What I really want us to get is that powerful moments of manifestation isn’t rare. Also manifestation is not only about what we want from a material perspective, or in terms of earthly success.
Manifesting means being intentional, being clear and giving ourselves a direction.
It’s a simple fact that when we believe something, it is more likely to happen—call it placebo effect or not, but that is a real thing.
Ideally we are intentional, and set our direction and say our prayers every day. But perhaps there is an extra ounce of faith present on these so called “manifestation days”?
My point is: why not?
Why not just take this opportunity, to set an intention and see what happens?
You don’t have to come up with new manifestation each time you meet a portal day. You can use the day to confirm and go deeper into what you have already committed to too.
What do you want?
What do you need?
What would make a difference right now?
What is the next target on your list?
Get clear and intentional. And if you are not sure, ask for clarity. Make it your intention to know what it is that you want.
Manifestation doesn’t have to be a hustle
Actually it’s meant to be the opposite.
Sometimes we think that in order to get, we have to put in a lot of work first. While I believe this to somewhat be true, the “work” doesn’t have to be what we traditionally think of it as, like hard labor or “hustling” for example.
Doing the work is when we get clear. Clear in our minds (conscious and subconscious), in our thoughts, in our actions and in our bodies too. Kundalini Yoga is a practice that helps us with that.
When we are clear, we are ready to receive.
Patience Pays, wait. Let the hand of God work for you
So this year for Lion’s Gate my prayer is that I trust that what I am doing is enough.
If I do the work of making myself clear, I whole heartedly believe that I will receive what I need.
Saying that with conviction and having that kind of trust isn’t always easy. But I believe that it is a key to unlocking the power to manifest.
JULY
Welcome to a new month in the Immersive Membership.
July is such a celebratory month! We have reached the peak of the year, still riding the wave of the Summer Solstice, and this is (usually) a time of leisure, pleasure and fun. Enjoy!
Really, enjoying is the theme of this month! I always say if you work hard and set your goals for the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, the rest of the year can simply flow.
This can be a good time and moment to zoom out a little bit, and instead of getting so caught up in the details, notice the bigger picture. Wherein does your happiness lie? What lift you up and what lights up your soul? You could actually make a list of all those things, and choose one new thing to do every day.
A mantra that has been stuck with me a lot lately is the following…
I am the light of my soul
I am bountiful
I am beautiful
I am bliss
I am I am
This month let’s focus on the rewards, and harvest the fruits of our labors of love.
If you are having a hard time letting go, or if the momentum has simply been building for you, and right now is not the time to hit the breaks, then perhaps you simply decide to keep going—which is equally as valuable—just notice what’s the right thing for you right now.
But if you’re finding it difficult to allow for more leisure time and pleasure to take center stage this month, perhaps your need for control is rooted in fear—fear of what will happen if you let go, fear that not enough money will keep coming in, fear that you simply don’t know how to allow for more leisure and pleasure to manifest—then I have a tip for you: Gratitude.
Oh I know, we’re back at it again😅 But gratitude is such a hack when it comes to letting go of fear and magnify the Prosperity Fragrance in life. Everything will work out in my favor is another powerful mantra to keep in mind this month (it doesn’t have a time limit of course—use it whenever you want).
When we are grateful and we count the wins, we magnify those aspects and qualities in our life, and more of that will show up. When we let go of the control, or when we find it hard to do so, remembering what works in our life—what we are grateful for and the rewards that have already showed up—assure us that we are on the right path, we do receive the blessings and the rewards from our efforts, and we can pacify our fears a little more easily.
Enjoy the rewards, or trust that they are on their way to you, allow for play, joy and pleasure to guide you, practice letting go of the need for control and micromanaging—and have a fantastic Summer!
JUNE
Welcome to a new month in the Immersive Membership.
June is the month of the Summer Solstice — an important day in the yogic traditions that we use to speed up our growth, align more deeply with our destiny, and amplify our impact.
The energy is really building as we move close the longest day of the year and the sun energy is at its height.
This is a great time for…
—Setting yourself up for the rest of the year: Get your offers ready, place yourself in a position to receive more, and tie up those loose ends that you might be dreading. This is the final moment to make the necessary adjustments, so that you can enjoy and harvest from your efforts for the rest of the year.
—Deep cleanse your body: With the weather getting warmer (if you live in the northern hemisphere that is) our bodies are much more forgiving than usual. This also means that we might be able to enjoy foods that usually aren’t doing so well in our system. However, if you do have any health issues this is also a time where, if you stay the course, your body has an even bigger opportunity to heal itself. Enjoy what nature has to offer. This is the time where her gifts to us are in full bloom.
—Go deeper into soul alignment: Make an intention that with this Summer Solstice, the voice of your soul will be heard even louder. Listening to our soul, finding our way in this world with it as our guide is what the spiritual work is really about. A lot can be done when we adjust our bodies “mechanically” with Kundalini Yoga.
When our nervous system is strong, we feel comfortable, confident, more free and secure in ourselves. When our glands secrete correctly, we are much more emotionally stable and our bodies can heal and recuperate, which makes us feel at ease within. When our minds are clear and we breathe deeply, we are observant and can take the steps which are correct for us, and we understand the consequences and rewards of our actions.
When all the “noise” of life is gone, we hear the soul whispers, and we are guided and supported in the way we should be.
I look forward to moving into the summer season and practicing with you this month in the membership.
