WHY RELATIONSHIPS ARE THE “HIGHEST YOGA”
Why do we practice yoga? Because it works wonderful to exercise both our minds and bodies as well as connect our spirit to the universal “God force” in the universe. There are many different reasons why someone would want to practice this.
This ancient/future system has never been more relevant—or more popular—than it is today. …
THE “OVERACHIEVER EXHAUSTION COMPLEX”
—AND HOW TO BEAT IT
Have you spotted the current trend in the “wellness world”? I’ve called it the “overachiever exhaustion complex”.
Many people who have been seeking healing, or engaged in self improvement practices are genuinely burned out. They get tired of feeling like there’s something wrong with them, or that they have to “fix” themselves constantly. …
WHY I STOPPED COMPLAINING
I was not really born an optimist (or maybe I was, but my immediate environment quickly changed it). Optimism is something I have had to train, just like any other “muscle” that I’ve worked hard for (because strong physic is also not something I was inherently born with).
I still remember the day when I finally realized that I had all the choices in life. And that I also had enough energy and mental power to take responsibility for making those choices. That was a day of true liberation for me. …
5 HARD TRUTHS AND A DARE
… about spirituality (and the people who teach it)
#1: You can’t actually teach spirituality
You can use spiritual practices to get into a position where you can catch it.
(Time can also be a teacher. But it is a slow game)
“Spirituality is not taught, it is caught”—ever heard that sentence? Spirituality is not something you can actually teach someone else. …
THE THING ABOUT FEAR…
… is that it is a product of time. Fear only exist as a future projection. What’s the thing about projections? They can be wrong. Fear is always a fantasy. What is a fear? …
JANUARY 1ST: THE DAY OF THE SOUL
I’m also going to chime in, and say that January 1st might not be the ideal time to fill your head with a big to-do list. The new year of our Gregorian calendar, is well, kind of a construct. And not necessarily the ideal time to make resolutions.
We are still in the darkest time of the year, and this time is really one of resetting, and of tending to the soil—aka how you feel in all aspects of your life…
NAVIGATING DRINKING IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON (and any time)
The topic of alcohol has come up in a lot of conversations I’ve had over the last weeks (in conversations, in the DM on Instagram etc.)
I absolutely love to give my take on these things, simply because I am so passionate about sharing the yogic technology and teachings around it—which when applied can make life much more enjoyable for most people. It is an alternative way of living life which many find liberating…
10 LESSONS I’VE LEARNED FROM HAVING A DAILY PRACTICE
It’s hard for me not to shout from the rooftops about this practice. Everyone I’ve known who has ever given kundalini yoga a serious try has experienced tremendous results—some beyond their wildest imaginations. Still, we are now in a time where information doesn’t really matter that much—it’s all about the experience—and people generally don’t like to be told what to do, or how to “fix themselves”…
MY JOURNEY WITH KUNDALINI YOGA
I was 23 when I first came into contact with Kundalini Yoga. It was in Paris and I was excited about all the yoga forms the city had to offer. I tried them all, basically. I had been practicing yoga since I was 13, so I was in no way a novice. Still, this form of yoga (kundalini) was so different that I in many ways felt like a complete beginner (what a wonderful place to be, by the way)…
SUPER HUMAN IS FULLY HUMAN
When I was pregnant with David Ra back in 2020, I knew I had to prepare him to live successfully as a human, and I was drawn to the idea of teaching him about the chakras. In Kundalini Yoga we acknowledge that children are raised in the womb, and that any knowledge that you wish to pass on to them should be given from the 120th day until the 7th month of pregnancy, ideally (more on this topic in the Mothers Divine Course which will begin in September). And so I thought, what better way to teach him about the full human potential than to teach him about the chakras? …
WHAT MOTHERS REALLY NEED
I started ‘Mothers Divine’ after the birth of my son, David Ra. Throughout my pregnancy I had found such tremendous strength in my Kundalini Yoga practice, and in general I just found that my experience of pregnancy had been very different from the narrative of pregnancy and birth that I found all around me. It was actually hard to find literature and communities where I felt my experience of pregnancy and birth was reflected. The general outlook was one of deep fear, overwhelm, different “cooping mechanism” because surely this was going to be something traumatic and exhausting…
