JUPITER FINGER CHAKRA MEDITATION

Before starting this practice please take a moment to “tune in” by saying 3x “ Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo “ with the hands in font of the heart in prayer. Learn more about Tuning In HERE

  • INSTRUCTIONS

  • POSTURE

Sit in easy pose. Place your left hand flat against your chest at the heart center.

Fingers are parallel to the ground, thumb points towards the face.

Bend the elbow. Extend the Index (Jupiter) Finger straight up. Fold the remaining fingers into the palm with the thumb holding down the fingers.

    Eyes are closed.

  • MOVEMENT & MANTRA

Chant the mantra “SA TA NA MA” out loud while the right hand’s extended Index Finger touches the following points. Each round of touching the points and chanting the mantra through takes about 4-5 seconds:

‘SA’ as you touch the middle of the lower lip.

‘TA’ as you touch the tip of the nose, be sure you “point” the finger.

‘NA’ as you touch the outer edge of the right eye socket, the region of the skull bone near the outside of the eye. Because there are two eyes and two outer edges of the eye socket, alternate sides each time as you go up in the sequence. Start with the right side.

‘MA’ as you touch third eye, a point about 3/4ths of an inch above the indent of the nose which is just below the forehead (mid-point between the eye brows)

    Eyes: Closed.

Time: 33 minutes is the maximum time for this meditation. You may start with 11 minutes or even less.

  • ENDING

    3 Breaths to End

    1) [Inhale] “Inhale deep, hold the breath. Feel your child by self-hypnosis.” Hold for 17 Seconds. [Exhale] “Breathe out.”

    2) [Inhale] “Inhale deep, hypnotize yourself. You must have seen your picture as a child. Picture it in your heart where your hand is.

Concentrate, concentrate, concentrate.” Hold for 54 Seconds.

    [Exhale] “Breathe out.”

    3) [Inhale] “Breathe in again, very good. Do it again. Bless the child, be that child.” Hold for 22 Seconds. [Exhale] “And let the breath go.

    Relax.”

  • BENEFITS

The tragedy is that realistic fear has no importance than the phobic fear of your faculty of imagination or your fantasy. That is the basic human tragedy and 80 percent of humanity. And it’s a built-in.

This meditation was originally taught by Yogi Bhajan as a "children's meditation" but can also be practiced by adolescents and adults. Anyone with past trauma will benefit from this practice. Even someone without past trauma can improve the balance of their personality by its use.

This meditation helps to balance the chakras and meridians in the body. It is an excellent meditation to practice with your children. It will evoke many feelings that have stuck with you since a child. It will help adults get rid of the "childhood syndrome," a condition where you cling to something that is already finished – a syndrome which can easily ruin and limit your life.
