3 TIPS TO UPGRADE YOUR ENERGY RIGHT NOW
(THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE OF YOU TO PRACTICE MORE)
The end of the year is near, and so is the opportunity to celebrate the return of the light—the Winter Solstice.
My experience is that when we prepare well for this event, and stay on a positive current—even in these often challenging times, where a lot can shift and come up to the surface—we get a big return on investment.
The end of December naturally brings with it also joyful moments—whether you celebrate Christmas, Yule, or other holidays—but it’s also a time of business and wrapping things up (not just the presents) for the end of the year.
It can seem like this is not the right moment to add more things on your to-do list, so below I’ve listen three of my favorite things to add more energy into the darker months, that doesn’t require of you to actually practice or take a class.
Here’s my 3 tips to upgrade your energy right now (that doesn’t require of you to practice more):
Add a Mantra box to your home. Living surrounded by mantras offers a constant energetic uplift that builds over time. It’s a way to build your life towards more positivity and energy, that doesn’t require of you to get on the mat (only).
How to make a mantra box:
Buy a mini speaker and an SD card (you might need a card reader too). Use an app (fx this one) that creates a MP3 file for you immediately, and record yourself chanting a mantra (your own voice is 100x more powerful for you to listen to—I suggest chanting Wahe Guru, with White Sun Gong playing in the background) and share it to your computer (you can also use an existing file if you don’t want to record your own voice, just convert it to mp3 if it isn’t already). Then drag the file onto the SD card and put it in the mantra box. Play it forever (or until the mantra box breaks—they always do at some point :-/ )Go Green. No, it’s not just about about getting a re-plantable Christmas tree, or buying local for the holidays—this tip is about adding more green to your diet, and especially in the form of liquids and herbs.
With the colder months comes a lot of dryness. We add heat to our homes which is cozy but can also make you feel dried out and dehydrated. When we’re dehydrated we get cranky, and irritated, and our bodies doesn’t function well. To nourish the cells it’s great to drink green infusions. I like nettle, oat straw and red raspberry leaf.
Make a batch by pouring a liter of hot water over about a handful of one of the herbs (single herbs work best with infusions to hydrate), and let it sit for 4 hours minimum. Drink it for instant mineral rich cellular hydration.Light candles for other people. Pretty self explanatory, but this practice is based on a simple principle: Whenever we’re in a conflict with someone, or someone is challenging us (which, let’s face it is often the case this time of year, with family and relatives around, and people generally being more stressed, because we’re pressured financially), what would really help is not to defend, go negative, become angry etc. If you want a better experience of being around someone, project positively towards them.
I start chanting Wahe Guru immediately if someone is being negative towards me, and try to appeal to their highest consciousness. Even if someone has crossed me, and I might get angry or hurt for a moment, I try to quickly turn things around by sending positive thoughts towards the person. Do they deserve it? Well… if I want to get something better out of them, then the only thing that helps is trying to appeal to their highest self, not punishing them.
In the winter months, where I like to light a lot of candles anyways (especially beeswax ones—cute ones here on Etsy), I will dedicate the candles to different people, who I feel might need more light in their life, and I will say a little prayer or a simple Sat Nam as I light it.
Now of course, this is also a great time to practice and get your physical, mental and energetic vehicle into a good state. So here you will find my other offers, for practicing Kundalini Yoga during the holidays. I have two Solstice workshops that I will offer, one in person at RA MA Mallorca and the other online, and we’re still going strong with the 11 days of Winter Solstice Meditations.
Wishing you an amazing Winter Solstice this year!
