I absolutely love this teaching found in Kundalini Yoga. It refers to this path and practice, and it just makes everything so incredible simple.

Yet somehow many still get caught up in a struggle and a duality relationship with Kundalini Yoga and how to practice and teach it.

The teachings of Kundalini Yoga are very clear, and they are also very perfect. There isn’t anything that you have to change, subtract or add—whether you practice for yourself, or you teach others.

But of course the amount you practice can absolutely vary. You can take one kriya, one practice, one teaching, apply it to your life and you will feel a tremendous benefit.

For some reason I still see people who struggle with the authority of the teachings though.

The directive is very clear: you do not change the teachings. And if you were given a teaching, you have an obligation as a teacher to pass it on in the same way as it was taught to you, without altering it (the consequences of not doing so are described in the scriptures and they are quite grim).

But why would someone change the teachings? — you might ask

There are many reasons why someone would alter a teaching, or “water it down”, and most have (not surprisingly) to do with the person’s ego involvement.

When someone doesn’t have a teacher relationship, they become their own highest authority.

That sounds like just the thing for the Aquarian Age right? Maybe you have heard phrase like “you should be your own authority”, or “don’t let yourself be “controlled” by anyone else’s influence” etc.

I’m not saying that you should let yourself be controlled by someone else, but when it comes to being on a spiritual path it isn’t helpful for you to be your own highest authority.

There isn’t enough time in this life to ascent to the highest peaks of consciousness, without having someone to guide you there. But you can absolutely roam around in the lower realms without getting significantly affected.

If you think you know better by being on your own, or if you avoid having a teacher altogether, your ego is likely running the show.

People avoid having a teacher because they don’t want eyes on them, and they don’t want their faults exposed.

The ego feels much more comfortable without a teacher, as the person is then free to engage in their own interpretations, and are not under pressure for their consciousness to change at a rapid pace, which might cause changes that their sense of attachment is challenged by.

This is why people “shop around” for teachers, do trainings “here and there”, or sometimes avoid being around a teacher at all.

When you are a teacher you have a responsibility. And your life is not lived for your own need fulfillment or sense of entertainment anymore. Many don’t want to realize that, and that’s why they don’t want to be in the “teacher identity”, with all the responsibilities that come—yet they still teach others.

Back to my first notions: If you can do it, do it. If you can’t do it, don’t do it! (Do something else instead)

But we do actually really need Kundalini Yoga teachers, and the objective is never to gather students or disciples, but to create teachers. (Another thing you can be aware of: someone saying excessively “my students”. The students belong to the dharma, not to any one teacher).

There’s absolutely an “eco system” to these teachings that I also don’t want to deny or scrutinize.

Not everyone has to do it “perfectly”. There has to be different levels of entry to the path, and not everyone who initially connect will be able to “catch it” right away. So it isn’t “wrong” of the path to arrange itself in a way where some teachers have a more “loose” or mainstream relatable approach. As long as they understand what is correct, and they don’t criticize, discourage or ridicule anyone who want to go further than where they themselves have gone, then there really isn’t a problem with that.

If they do however (criticize, discourage etc…) you can be sure you are dealing with a teacher who’s ego got challenged and got involved with their practice. They likely don’t have a teacher themselves, or their teacher simply isn’t of a caliber where they are able to challenge them to transform their ego approach.

People practice inaccurately, because their ego have too strong a hold in them, that prevents them from wanting to do it right, because they know (subconsciously) that to practice right will change them, and they are too attached to their current life that they block the opportunity to change.

Teachers teach incorrectly, as they likely practice incorrectly, and also because teaching Kundalini Yoga authentically can create a significant subconscious release in the group, and the teacher subconsciously wants to avoid that.

That’s why they “dumb it down”, make mistakes, don’t put a turban on (yes that can absolutely make you avoid going deeper when teaching, because your crown chakra is less protected, and you then subconsciously avoid taking the practice to a higher level), or try to conform the directives of the practice to the students level of comfort, instead of trying the motivate and inspire the students to go further.

—And hey everyone can make a mistake, say “Sat Nam” and move on. But if you frequently make mistakes, or if you study with someone who frequently makes mistakes, it can be a symptom that they are subconsciously avoiding the potential depth of the practice.

Nevertheless, even such a teacher can be a first step for anyone on the path, and therefore can serve a purpose for the student.

A note to the student

You might find yourself under the influence of such a teacher who think their own subjective interpretation of the teachings are more correct than what was originally given, or who doesn’t have a teacher who is part of a connected lineage.

You might be surprised to know that I did in the very beginning of my Kundalini Yoga journey. My first teacher that I went to many classes with for years, turned out to be corrupt (changing the practices and being the student of a teacher disconnected from the lineage of Yogi Bhajan).

I don’t spend a moment ever being ungrateful for what she gave me: an entry point into the yogic science and lifestyle.

There’s no way that I would have been able to connect directly with my current teachers, at that time in my life. I had to first get a foundational practice going, and get in touch with the Kundalini Yoga lineage, even if on a superficial and imminent level.

We never really know where the path will take us, but if you stay aware and search for authentic teachers, and avoid the traps of “vibez”, and teachers who are too concerned with comforting you (or scared of the students, so they never get further than to please and comfort), you have a much better chance of “walking up the mountain”. There honestly isn’t that much time in a lifetime to reach a higher consciousness, but the soul is yearning for it.

Back to my initial notion: If you feel in your heart that you can do it, please do it. Take this path, find authentic teachers, do it right, submit yourself to the practice and the system, be humble and learn. You will be very well rewarded. (And if you cannot: don’t worry about it!)

NEW MOON MANIFESTATIONS

Today is a New Moon: How can we work more consciously with this energy?

On the New Moon the moon is at its least visible in the sky, and the sun doesn’t reflect back its light to us at all. This happens because the moon is directly between Earth and the Sun, with its shadowed side pointing towards us.

Energetically speaking this means that rather than being guided by an external force (the sun’s light) we are guided by our internal force—the lunar force—which represents our mind.

This means that we will be naturally more inclined to introspection on the New Moon, and to be more quiet and wanting to take time to contemplate.

When we work consciously with this force rather than resisting it, or believing something is wrong with us because we don’t feel so socially outgoing etc., we honor and align ourselves with the natural lunar rhythm.

After the New Moon (and only after the new moon time has passed—pay attention to this), the moon starts growing again, and we, our intentions and visions can grow with it.

This is a time to Manifest

There's a lot of talk about manifestation, and a lot of promises being thrown around out there.

But what does it actually mean to manifest?

From a yogic perspective manifestation happens when our mind is in a state of one pointed focus. Our auras then determines our reality, because it is the physical manifestation of our mind. The aura is an electromagnetic field, and just like a magnet, it attracts and repels. Whatever shows up in our mind, moves into our aura and determines what comes into our lives.

But we are not dealing only with our conscious mind—we are under influence of our subconscious mind too. This is why kundalini yoga works as such a powerful practice because it cleans the subconscious mind and changes our patterns and thoughts, thus changing the aura and what shows up for us in life.

Manifestation then becomes that which we set as a pattern or baseline frequency for ourselves, by rewiring how we think, relate to others, what we believe about ourselves etc. The practice of Kundalini Yoga can do that for us, and it can also be done through a conscious process of choosing and affirming for ourselves the values and beliefs we want to have, or by working with our neurology and psyche with various methods.

Whatever we can hold in our conscious mind with absolute conviction, pure belief and certainty, that is what will show up for us.

Your manifestations become more powerful and effective when you are aligned with your Infinite Identity

I’m sure we have all tried to manifestation—make the list, repeat the affirmations, write down the daily number of money we want to have come in, etc. And perhaps with varying results.

It wouldn’t surprise me the least if you felt reluctant or skeptical about the process of manifesting—I know I have felt that way, many times.

What really changed the process for me, was when I started to really get in touch with a higher force—aligning myself with my Infinite Identity rather than the more personality based finite one.

What does that actually feel or look?

Well, it doesn’t have to look any particular way actually, but for me there was definitely an outer identity shift that took place. When I started getting in touch with who my Infinite Self was, and how that part of me wanted to look like, and I started honoring that, that certainly changed my aura because people started relating to me differently, and the reflections I received was affirming more my Infinite Identity than my personality choices.

But it doesn’t look any one way in terms of exactly what to wear, or how to present yourself—that’s a personal choice and a personal journey—and this is just one of the ways in which we can start identifying more closely with our Infinite Identity.

I encourage you to think about how and for who you dress.

Our identity gets affirmed when we interact with other people—that’s just a fact, even if we might try to ignore that or we don’t believe it to be so—well, I believe that we are then downplaying the effects of human interaction and societal influence on us. Why not use it consciously as a tool, rather than try to ignore the facts?

Uniforms are often part of a spiritual system, because it downplays the personality and finite identity, and makes more room for the Infinite Self, and that which lies beyond the interactions and messaging that happens through how we dress / code our aura.

You could ask yourself: what does my Infinite Identity uniform look like?

Times of solitude has been used as a tool for spiritual advancement since forever

When we spend time alone it means our identity doesn’t get confirmed by others. That’s why solitude is often a part of a spiritual system or spiritual development. When we meditate, or when we do our practice early in the morning, we are also retreating from the world and spending time with our Infinite Self. As a householder, longer retreats or times of solitude might not be possible, but they also aren’t necessary in this system (Kundalini Yoga) because we have so many other tools available that can help.

What does being in touch with your Infinite Identity feel like?

When we are less guided by our finite selves and our Infinite Identity takes over, life becomes incredibly impersonal.

We are less caught up in the dramas—of everybody else, of our own emotions, of whatever circumstances we might find ourselves to be in—because we don’t really live or die anymore. We have full trust and understanding that we are infinite beings, here way beyond this lifetime only.

Nothing is that big a deal, yet we understand that everything is incredibly sacred, and not a moment or an opportunity is wasted.

We know that we are only here for a short amount of time, and we are here for a purpose and a mission, and we are ready to do what it takes to get it done, and to deliver. We do our best, whatever that currently looks like in every moment, and we constantly ask ourselves questions like:

What is the best course of action for me right now?
What’s the most valuable thing I can do with my time right now?

This also means that the concept of manifestation changes.

We are not looking to manifest for our limited self, or for our own selfish needs.

When we are living through our Infinite Self, our manifestations becomes that which serves our highest purpose.

Manifesting from the point of the Infinite Identity

Whatever the soul needs to fulfill its destiny, that’s what we are constantly praying to receive and call in.

When we manifest in this way we receive that which truly fulfills us on a soul level.

You wouldn’t believe how many things I have manifested (from a finite desire) that, once they came through, turned out to be actually completely wrong for me.

I have no doubt that I can manifest—I’ve pulled in some crazy stuff. But much of it was just my idea of what success looked like, what I thought might make me happy, something I saw another person experience or have that I wanted to have etc. And a lot of it turned out to be a distraction—just an experience or material gain on the way but not that which truly made an impact or difference in my life.

I am now solely focused on manifesting from a point of Infinite Self, and it means that when something comes in, I trust that it is the right thing, and I am also not getting impatient with my process, because I know that if something isn’t coming in it might be because it simply isn’t what I need to carry out my purpose in this life.

There’s a completely difference sense of ease and trust, that isn’t available in the “hungry ghost realm” of finite desires and manifesting just for the sake of having more.

Use this new moon day to gain clarity

The time between the New Moon and the Full Moon is a time when our prayers and manifestations are naturally growing as the light of the moon grows (and if you are looking to literally plant and grow something the new moon is also the time to sow the seeds).

With the New Moon we have a greater opportunity to still ourselves, become quiet and spend time in solitude and connect more deeply with our Infinite Identity.

Pray for the answers: Look at where you need help, assistance, or maybe even divine interventions or a miracle. If you aren’t sure, pray that the answer will come to you.

Solidify the process by creating a new pattern: Our words are incredibly powerful, so start making some affirmations that support you in where you want to be in life. Avoid sentence with “not”, like fx: I am not living in this apartment anymore. Focus on positive affirmations that are stated as if they already happened to you, fx: I live in a beautiful and peaceful home that I love.

Use the affirmation until your manifestation has come true, or until new clarity comes to you, and don’t forget to add prayers to your infinite self like I am calling in that which serves my highest purpose, I am living my highest destiny etc.

Add prayers for others + gratitude: one of the most powerful forces on the planet is gratitude. It amplify our magnetism, creates radiance and is one of the highest frequency states one can be in. Before manifesting I always think of at least three things that I am grateful for. Praying for others also amplify the state of love and acceptance, and if you are a parent or partner to someone it is your obligation to pray for them.

The Moon will assist you in growing your prayers, and will help to amplify and solidify them.

Q: Can you only manifest on the New Moon?

A: It is advices that you don’t initiate something new or start working with a new affirmation between the Full and New Moon, but you can absolutely continue your work of affirmations + prayers and gratitude (highly encouraged actually) in the dark phase of the moon too. Some people switch their affirmations and intentions after the moon is full, and focus instead on what they would like to let go of. But if you have something you would like to call in or you are working with an affirmation to change a behavior or pattern, don’t stop just because the New Moon phase has passed.

EQUINOX YATRA TO ASSISI—The fall equinox (this year nestled between two eclipses) called us to go to meet once again with the magical hillside town and forrest of Assisi, Italy.

I love this place so much! Waking up above the clouds with stunning views, and quiet cobblestone streets. Ordering cappuccino d’orzo and honey croissants. Eating delicious pasta with truffles—this place never disappoints me. But the food is not the only reason for traveling all the way there.

The energetic abode of Saint Francis of Assisi can be found deep in the forrest higher up on the mountain. It is a place of tranquility, peace, love, acceptance and heart. Whenever we go there, I feel this calmness and peace infusing me, calming my nervous system, and taking away the business of my mind.

A Yatra isn’t just a sight seeing or a holiday. We go there for the energy, and to receive energetic upgrades on special beneficial days (like the equinoxes and solstices).

When I go somewhere on a yatra it is with the objective to change, to let go, to grow, to forgive, to accept, to call in, to strengthen, to learn, to receive. There’s a specific practice I will do at the place that I learned from my teacher, to meet the energy field and gain experience of it …

Places, saints and holy and elevated beings leave behind gifts for us to find, in the form of energetic fields of consciousness.

When we visit certain places where these energy fields reside, we have the opportunity to “catch” that energy.

It requires that we position ourselves well—which is why my daily practice of Kundalini Yoga, meditation and mantras is so important to me, it means that once I meet the energy field I am in a position to receive the information.

Just because you go somewhere where supposedly a spiritual person used to live or practice, doesn’t mean you automatically get an enlightened or elevated experience. We can move through these places as tourists and many do.

But if we know how to connect with these energy fields of higher consciousness, first and foremost by connecting to our own higher consciousness, then we can receive tremendous gifts, insights and upgrades when we go to such places.

I won’t be sharing my direct experiences or what unfolded for me this year in Assisi—that’s for me to still unpack, and I’m still integrating. What I do feel much stronger now than for a long time is that community and service is of the utmost importance. Do not ask what others can do for you, ask what you can do for others. This is a gemstone bejeweled key to your happiness and contentment.

See my instagram post with images from my yatra to Assisi.

PRACTICE THE MEDITATION FOR THE NEUTRAL MIND

This is to me a very precious yet simple meditation, and it is the one that I do when I go to these holy sights when I am on a yatra.

I also like to chant, and practice on my mala, at the energy seems extra amplified when I do recitations in those types of locations.

I recommend practicing this meditation often, as then you have the habit of it once you go to a place where you are trying to connect with an energy field. 5 minutes a day can give you a nice sense of calm. 31min a day can completely transform you and root you in your neutral mind’s consciousness.

YOU HAVE AN AURA, YOU HAVE A RADIANT BODY. SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?!

Alright, I know life can seem hard and complicated sometimes, but the yogic science is here to simplify and ease the pain of existing.

Yes that’s right—while this vast science might seem, well, vast, it is actually based on some simple principles, or laws if you will, that, once understood and applied, makes life so much more easy to live.

When we understand our human structure, which is so much more than just a physical body and a mind, we can begin to activate and also automate so many functions that makes life a lot easier to live.

Our Auras are electromagnetic fields. Just like a magnet, our auras attract and repel. What our auras attract and repel depends on what shows up in it. Our Arcline, which is like a halo running from earlobe to earlobe, plays a big role in this (did you know that your destiny is written in your Arcline?) The Arcline is the base of the Aura, and is what ignites it, like a spark. It determines the programming of what is being called in and what is being held away. Opportunities, people, and situations will come to you based on what programming is installed in your aura.

Without knowledge of this (and even with sometimes—it’s all a process of course), it’s likely that we just run programs based on what has been installed in us—from our parents, societal standards, things that happened to us in our past, our traumas etc.

Don’t like what is showing up in your life? You have the power to change it!

We all have the opportunity to change our arcline programming and auric structure, and thus what shows up in life, and that is a big part of what Kundalini Yoga can do.

Furthermore we have a Radiant Body—which works like a shield, protecting us, and, like the word indicates, radiates for us.

The Radiant Body when strong is like a messenger, that casts our projection further. An ordinary person’s Radiant Body extends 20 km, but a yogic practitioner has a wider range of about 40 km! And our radiance can also extends to the virtual space. We’re communicating through these bodies, and picking up on cues from each other all the time—whether consciously or not.

The Radiant Body is influencing how people think about you, and can attract opportunities. Ever been in a room where someone walked in and all heads turned? Yeah, that’s a person with a big Aura or Radiant Body. It might not even have been the prettiest or otherwise attractive person—doesn’t matter! Radiance can be perceived way beyond the physical body.

When our radiance is strong and bright, we are uplifted and uplifting. We do not panic about gain and loss, we don’t compete with others, we trust that we are protected and provided for.

Kundalini Yoga helps us develop strong Auras and Radiant Bodies, which is why so many people report back that they feel (sometimes instantly) so great when they begin this practice. And it’s fast.

Because life and happiness is really quite a simple thing, but we like to overcomplicate it, don’t we? That’s fine, in pain and suffering many great lessons are learned, and sometimes we just need to get to those places as a motivator for finally making the changes.

By mechanically adjusting our bodies (there’s ten of them—do you know what they are? Learn more here) with Kundalini Yoga, we have such an advantage in life, and we can easily increase our levels of happiness and success.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

While we should all hold our individual answers to this questions, most people might be thinking of a definitions of success as achieving certain socially acceptable milestones, or having a lot of money.

In many people’s minds those factors should lead to a happy life.

But the outer successes doesn’t necessarily lead to happiness (many wealthy people can attest to that).

The definitions of success might not align with who you are as a person (or they might, and that’s all fine too).

So what is success then?

To me success is about living out my soul’s purpose, being of service to others in whichever way aligns with my mission, and to experience high levels of happiness frequently, (and yes, having money and basic needs met is also important).

Actually, when studying happiness, and people who by their own definition said that they were living happy lives, this is what was discovered…

In order to increase happiness levels, humans need to be developed in these five areas of their life:

  1. Having basic needs met.

  2. Having meaningful relationships.

  3. Making a difference in other peoples lives.

  4. Being part of a community.

  5. Frequently experience flow state

Did anything on the list surprise you?

One of the major components that instantly shifts peoples perceived levels of happiness was acts of service and helping others.

Another was the experience of flow state. Flow state is when we get into “the zone” working on something or doing something we thoroughly enjoy, like dancing, painting, playing sports, work on a project, walk in nature, have a deep conversation with a friend etc. Those moments that kind of exist “beyond time and space”.

Can kundalini yoga increase our levels of happiness?

Kundalini Yoga has been dubbed the Science of Happiness, and many of the teachings we use in Kundalini Yoga very much correspond with the findings and scientific studies of happiness.

Just from a personal viewpoint I can attest to my own experience of feeling much higher levels of perceived happiness, and I also see that in those around me who practice.

Why am I using the phrase “perceived happiness” you might ask? Well happiness doesn’t really subscribe to a check list idea of what it is. Happiness is about each persons own feelings of happiness. Two people’s lives can look very similar but one person might be entirely happy and the other miserable.

So what makes us happy?

Outlook and mindset plays an important role, and hormones also do.

Oxytocin which is called the “love hormone” is experienced through intimacy, either physical touch, or when we “bond” with another person, and feel safe. If we are deprived of this hormone, that can play a big role in how we feel, so if you’re looking to increase your sense of happiness, this could be a place to start.

How we view our world, and our place in it also plays a big role.

Our mindset can be trained and changed, and this is one of the benefits of meditation and of Kundalini Yoga.

Having a bigger outlook on life changes our perceived levels of happiness. When we get caught up in our “finite existence”, we might feel limited, alone, isolated. When we realize that we are all connected, and we find our essence of spirit, we can experience the flow of infinity, expressing through us, in our finite human form. That feels very satisfying and purposeful which can lead to an increased perception of happiness.

HOW I PREPARE FOR THE SPRING EQUINOX

SPRING EQUINOX: The most important day of your life is here.

Okay, we don’t have to be so dramatic about it, but actually that’s a yogic teaching.

The Equinoxes (especially the spring one—I’ll tell you why later) are major opportunities for taking jumps. Basically the heightened energy of the day wants to come through and reach you. It is looking for you. And if you position yourself right, it can carry you through the rest of the year (at least that’s been my experience).

Now what does it mean on a personal level? Attention changes an outcome, and consciousness change us even on the very molecular level (that’s just basic quantum physics). When you get very focused, and concentrate on an objective or goal (and that goal can literally be anything you want it to be: more relaxed, less stress, pulling in a million dollars… whatever it might be…) you create a magnetic stream that starts to pull the thing towards you. Now it might take time for the circumstances to align in the right way, but trust me, the work has begun and the universe is conspiring in your favor, always.

That’s the opportunity we always have, and we just have to start working with our goals, and become fit vessels for them to unfold in our life.

With a day like the spring equinox, as I was saying, the energy is looking for you in a different way than usual. There’s a major opportunity for being swept by the winds of the time, and create a wave of energy that can see you through all the way until the next equinox.

How do I know? Because I’ve seen it and experienced it time and time again. And a little effort goes a long way. If you consider yourself a yogi, you know not to miss out on the opportunities these days bring.

The Spring Equinox is extra favorable as the energy builds up (and reaches it’s peak at the Summer Solstice), simply because we experience an increase in sun energy, which is more vital, and energizing than the moon energy (from fall equinox until spring equinox we have longer nights and therefore a greater amount of moon energy available). Sun is outward flowing energy, and gets us moving. A perfect time to accomplish your goals, because you have the extra energy available (and if you live in the southern hemisphere, its reversed, now will be the moment to start going into the energy of the moon, which is more analytical, strategical and mind oriented).

Regardless of how you decide to spend this day (which is tomorrow, March 20th btw), I encourage you to take a moment to call in the energy of the Sun, allow it to move into your body, and take away some of the stagnant winter chill. Ask it to help you as you realize your goals and potential. We all have something incredible valuable that we came here to the planet to deliver, and the world would be missing out if you did not feel encouraged to live out that purpose. You’re here for a special reason, only you can know what is. Allow yourself to be open for the insights. And I hope with all my heart that you will enjoy the journey—that’s the most important of all.

When we look at it this way, I hope you will see the Spring Equinox as an opportunity to take away some of the pressure, and instead get into the flow where you trust, and feel that you are on the right path in life. That’s very magnetic. The Spring Equinox always gives me a great trust that I am here for a reason, that I will deliver, and that the whole universe is conspiring for my greatest good.

HOW I’M PREPARING FOR THE SPRING EQUINOX THIS YEAR

CLEANSING—Wednesday, March 20th is not only the Spring Equinox but also the 11th day of the Moon. It is very favorable to fast or eat light on that day, as a specific glandular secretion is taking place, which can advance your healing and bodily health. A green diet (simply eat only things that are naturally green) is also very beneficial.

MOTIVATION—I use enterteinment a lot for motivation (anyone else?) We watch stuff to relax anyways, and by shifting by feeling from one of "i’m wasting time” or feeling guilty to "what can I learn from what I’m watching?”, I get a lot about myself and the world, through the joy of entertainment (don’t worry if you don’t know what I’m talking about, there’s a whole podcast in the making about this subject—stay tuned).

For this Spring Equinox it’s of course Dune Part Two that has been the greatest inspiration for unlocking super human (or as my teacher called it human human) potential. I’m not saying I am a super human (yet), but I’m curious to see what we can do as humans, how much of our mental potential we can unlock and how far we can take ourselves. That’s what Dune is essentially about. Major 5 star review from me.

INSPIRATION—I’m a daily “Pinterester” and I love creating moodboards. Here’s my latest one for the Spring Equinox.

ALIGNMENT—Gotta get those visions and ideas down on paper or hanging on my walls. What I’ve been “seeding” on the Winter Solstice is starting to take shape as a real plan for the future, especially the coming year. Around the Spring Equinox it’s important for me to get concrete with my plans, and solidify my direction for the rest of the year. If you need help getting clear on your plans see here for my alignment courses (3 part workshop series) HOW TO FIND YOUR MISSION and DESTINY ACCELERATOR—they’re still 50% off until Friday, March 22.

Wishing you all a blessed Spring Equinox!

LOVE MORE THIS YEAR ON VALENTINE’S

If you’re in a relationship, Valentine’s Day can be a fun, flirtatious little February highlight. Or it can be a total bummer, depending on your expectations (and your partners inability to meet them😂)

I’m from the north and honestly didn’t even grow up with Valentine’s day until the “holiday” seeped into my awareness in my late adolescent years. I’m not really that into it, however I am really into relationships and how to make them successful, so an excuse to romance is therefore always welcome in my world.

The problem with these days (and I would argue relationships in general) is that there’s so much expectation around them. We generally tend to set the bar high in relationships. It's a lot about needs being met (our needs), and there’s so many opportunities for us and our partner to get it wrong.

Are we really that great at communications what we need?

Are we really as loving and forgiving towards our partner, as we expect them to be towards us?

Are we able to cut through our patterns and subconscious programming, and not just use our partnership as an outlet for our frustrations and emotions?

Relationships are so essential to our lives and it is part of what builds our identity. Through the other person we get to experience ourselves.

But relationships are also where we work a lot of things out. And anyone who is willing to stay with us after we’ve (yet again) unleashed all of our issues on them is a f***ing saint (that’s a good attitude for all of us to adopt).

Can we keep our partner in the highest regard, and worship the ground they walk on?

Can we truly appreciate them for their unique qualities, the ones we fell in love with in the first place?

Can we treat them as a dignified human being? Can we treat yourself as one?

This Valentine’s Day my prayer is that we may love a little more than we are being loved back. That we make the extra effort to give and not just expect to receive.

If we all got on that current we could flood the planet with a high frequency that all would benefit from.

Love is acceptance, first and foremost.

Can you, not just love, but accept the one you’re with? (If you’re having troubles or need a little extra help, see below for my special “to the rescue” Valentine’s Day offer.)

With this I wish you all a happier and a bit more reflective and conscious Valentine’s Day this year.

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you’re enjoying some nice times with family, friends and loved ones these days.

Christmas for me is first and foremost a celebration of the return of the light. Where I come from in Denmark we celebrate Jul (yule) and not really the birth of Christ, in the same way as in other countries. We have many Christmas traditions that are still to this day very rooted in Paganism. I like these traditions, and for me Christmas is a lot about culture, traditions, and not so much about religion.

But I think it is no coincidence that the christians celebrate the birth of Jesus at this time of the year. In actuality Yeshua was born on August 24 (confirmed by many sources and also by Yogi Bhajan). Funnily enough the Day of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8… hmm… That doesn’t align very well with him being born on December 25, but it would align with him being born in August. But as we all know how these things were moved around, and arranged to fit better with existing traditions, back when christianity was being ushered, in as the main religion in the western world.

Accurate date of birth or not—Christ was the light of hope for humanity born at the very beginning of the Piscean Age. At that time, some 2000 years ago, humanity was coming out of the Age of Aries. What we were experiencing on the planet was another level of aggression, and disregard for the value of human lives. We’re of course still working on that even now (as evident of current world events) but back then it was even more likely that a human would experience violence in the course of their life. Aries (in a low frequency) can be aggressive, forceful and violent. It was this prevalent consciousness and acceptance of violence that the consciousness of Christ broke with.

When we change the ages, it doesn’t happen in just a few years, and just like we haven’t seen the real fruition of the Aquarian Age yet, Christ consciousness is also still unfolding, even to this day. But a lot has been done already, and our value of a human life, and the acceptance of violence has changed on the planet. It’s nowhere near perfect, but if we look at the comparisons of 2000 years ago, we can see that humanity’s relationship with these themes is very different now. I believe we have Christ and his incarnation here on earth to thank for that (along with other enlightened masters who also incarnated during the Piscean Age).

Go deeper into this theme with two special classes from Nam Satya’s Class Archive.

The Winter Solstice is just one day away and we will be meeting the Sun at its darkest point (in the Northern Hemisphere at least), and soon we can look ahead to brighter and longer days.

There’s a great trust needed when we are in darker times (metaphorically and actually). We can’t see the full fruition yet, things might even feel hopeless, and we have to surrender and trust. It’s an excellent moment to make your life a living prayer—make offerings, sow seeds for your new ideas to blossom—and to rely on blessings.

I’m sure you can recall a moment in your life that has seemed hopeless, or “dark”. What brought you out of it? Sometimes it’s the will of the Self that finally says “enough”. Other times it might have been nothing short of a “divine intervention”—a miracle, or a blessing.

If you want to cultivate a deeper relationship with receiving blessings in your life, it is a good idea to build the habit of two practices: one is prayers—learn to ask for and invite in the miracles—and the other one is learning how to Self Bless.

THE PRACTICE OF SELF BLESSING

The practice of self blessing is a good place to start. If you want to be able to receive blessings or better yet be able to extend blessings to others, you have to become comfortable receiving blessings. It begins with your Self first.

I invite you to begin a daily practice of blessing yourself—first thing in the morning is ideal. It’s simple really: move through your body, or place your hands over each part of your body, saying “I bless my self, I bless my head, I bless my eyes, I bless my mouth” (you get the point).

This is a beautiful way to begin your day, and perhaps this winter solstice is the perfect moment to begin?

(THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE OF YOU TO PRACTICE MORE)

The end of the year is near, and so is the opportunity to celebrate the return of the light—the Winter Solstice.

My experience is that when we prepare well for this event, and stay on a positive current—even in these often challenging times, where a lot can shift and come up to the surface—we get a big return on investment.

The end of December naturally brings with it also joyful moments—whether you celebrate Christmas, Yule, or other holidays—but it’s also a time of business and wrapping things up (not just the presents) for the end of the year.

It can seem like this is not the right moment to add more things on your to-do list, so below I’ve listen three of my favorite things to add more energy into the darker months, that doesn’t require of you to actually practice or take a class.

Here’s my 3 tips to upgrade your energy right now (that doesn’t require of you to practice more):

  1. Add a Mantra box to your home. Living surrounded by mantras offers a constant energetic uplift that builds over time. It’s a way to build your life towards more positivity and energy, that doesn’t require of you to get on the mat (only).

How to make a mantra box:

Buy a mini speaker and an SD card (you might need a card reader too). Use an app (fx this one) that creates a MP3 file for you immediately, and record yourself chanting a mantra (your own voice is 100x more powerful for you to listen to—I suggest chanting Wahe Guru, with White Sun Gong playing in the background) and share it to your computer (you can also use an existing file if you don’t want to record your own voice, just convert it to mp3 if it isn’t already). Then drag the file onto the SD card and put it in the mantra box. Play it forever (or until the mantra box breaks—they always do at some point :-/ )

  2. Go Green. No, it’s not just about about getting a re-plantable Christmas tree, or buying local for the holidays—this tip is about adding more green to your diet, and especially in the form of liquids and herbs.

With the colder months comes a lot of dryness. We add heat to our homes which is cozy but can also make you feel dried out and dehydrated. When we’re dehydrated we get cranky, and irritated, and our bodies doesn’t function well. To nourish the cells it’s great to drink green infusions. I like nettle, oat straw and red raspberry leaf.

Make a batch by pouring a liter of hot water over about a handful of one of the herbs (single herbs work best with infusions to hydrate), and let it sit for 4 hours minimum. Drink it for instant mineral rich cellular hydration.

  3. Light candles for other people. Pretty self explanatory, but this practice is based on a simple principle: Whenever we’re in a conflict with someone, or someone is challenging us (which, let’s face it is often the case this time of year, with family and relatives around, and people generally being more stressed, because we’re pressured financially), what would really help is not to defend, go negative, become angry etc. If you want a better experience of being around someone, project positively towards them.

I start chanting Wahe Guru immediately if someone is being negative towards me, and try to appeal to their highest consciousness. Even if someone has crossed me, and I might get angry or hurt for a moment, I try to quickly turn things around by sending positive thoughts towards the person. Do they deserve it? Well… if I want to get something better out of them, then the only thing that helps is trying to appeal to their highest self, not punishing them.

In the winter months, where I like to light a lot of candles anyways (especially beeswax ones—cute ones here on Etsy), I will dedicate the candles to different people, who I feel might need more light in their life, and I will say a little prayer or a simple Sat Nam as I light it.

Now of course, this is also a great time to practice and get your physical, mental and energetic vehicle into a good state. So here you will find my other offers, for practicing Kundalini Yoga during the holidays. I have two Solstice workshops that I will offer, one in person at RA MA Mallorca and the other online, and we’re still going strong with the 11 days of Winter Solstice Meditations.

Wishing you an amazing Winter Solstice this year!

INDIA YATRA PART 2 - THE STEPS OF GOINDWAL

The Yatra to India that I participated in in October, gave several opportunities for acceleration and advancements. A Yatra is not a vacation (although it can be very enjoyable too), but an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of enlightened masters and beings.

If you haven’t found your own road (and let’s be really honest here, how many have actually managed to do that without a teacher or guidance?) the best bet would be to follow the footsteps of others who have been going in the direction you want to travel in.

The opportunity is to greatly accelerate your life, and have it be of a better quality than it was before (I’ll leave you to judge what “quality” means to you).

Before I went to India, I remember my mother saying how she felt like a lot had happened in my life over the last years. I don’t know if I agree, I think my progress has been more internal than actual, but perhaps that’s what she recognized too? “Yes, I’m very intentional about that.” I told her. Progress is the only thing I’m really interested in. “Am I doing better than I was before?”, “Is my work better than it was before?”, “Am I making better choices that I was before?”, etc. If I can answer “yes” then there’s progress, and things are moving and changing. Doesn’t really matter how fast or if I’m living out my vision board yet, I know that I’m on the way. Now what I want to do is speed up the timeline to greater acceleration, or do a significant jump (perhaps to a better timeline?) Going on the Yatra, that was my intention.

HOW REAL CAN IT GET?

The point of practicing within a spiritual systems, is making you life more enjoyable. To help you experience life from a more conscious space, that then opens up to the flow of infinite intelligence, to come through and expressed itself through you. When we “check out”, either in our awareness or through other distractions like drugs and alcohol, it’s an escape from that intelligence, and not having to witness our life.

The spiritual practices and systems are designed to root us in the scene of life, being completely present to what is going on. How real can it get? And how conscious can I stay as the witness to the realness of my life? By going deeper into our reality it’s like knocking down the stage setting, and seeing what mechanisms lies behind. What controls the scene? Why is it playing out in this way? Who has influence over the narrative? Etc. That gives us a higher level of intelligence.

More intelligent awareness leads to being able to choose what’s right for us, in any instance and at any time. The dogmas of life falls away at this stage.

I think it’s impossible to confirm what is universally good for all people. The key lies not in finding that one thing that is right for everyone, but in leading people to a place where they can figure it out for themselves.

Simply knowing what is right for us isn’t the reality for most people though. To get there we have to be able to knock the illusory stage down, and get intuitively switched on. The needs we think we have will match our level of conscious awareness. Otherwise we might seek things that actually aren’t in our best interest. We will seek numbness to the extend that we are uncomfortable with staying present.

One of the ways in which a spiritual system, like Kundalini Yoga and following the guidance of a teacher, can be helpful is because it gives a map, or blueprint of how people who have found their way to more consciousness have done so.

LIBERATION WHILE ALIVE

The Steps of Goindwal have for hundreds of years been a place of pilgrimage, and an opportunity for anyone who is able to complete the steps in the following way, to liberate their soul. The 84 steps leads down to a water basin, and you chant Japji (also called The Song of the Soul) on each step, and dip in the pool after each completion. Reciting Japji, if you’re really fast, takes between 10 and 15 minutes, so it takes around 15-20 hours for most people to complete the steps. Quite the undertaking, and definitely a physical, mental and spiritual stretch.

The Steps of Goindwal is an opportunity to follow in the foot steps of other enlightened beings, and for me and others in the RA MA community it is also a way of following in the footsteps of the teacher. It is said to liberate you. Reaching liberation while alive, is the highest and most coveted incarnational achievements. It is said to be possible when completing these steps.

As I’ve already revealed in a previous post, I didn’t do the steps this time, as my doctor had advised me against it. However, I had several close friends who were all facing the steps, and it was important for me to go there, and to support the undertakers in which ever way I could. I went straight there in the afternoon after having taken Amrit at the Golden Temple, and what met me was an interesting mix of concentration, intensity, and also quite noticeable frustration. It was definitely getting real.

This is not a light challenge. Especially when you have to manage the logistics of 40+ people all doing the steps simultaneously. The Steps of Goindwal are also a destination for Sikhs and locals visiting the place for a dip in the pool, so the struggle and the logistics were a real challenge. Everyone did so well though.

My task was to help serve those on the steps, offering them water, caffeinated drinks if they wanted, snacks etc. And just being present and praying for and chanting for them for the completion of the steps, which is a blessing for the whole sangat (means conscious community).

My experience serving was one of the most profound in my life. Serving others who are on their path to liberation—not just liberating themselves but seven generation before and after them—is the greatest blessing, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity and the experiences. I also experienced how the energy got transferred and I felt very “blissed out”, during the whole time that I was there.

My friends all completed what they had set out to do, and I am so proud of them. What an achievement! One day (soon) it will be my turn.

The Steps of Goindwal is one of those practices that has been laid out for us to attempt, leading us closer to where we need to go. I think liberation doesn’t necessarily look the way the majority think it does. Liberation doesn’t necessarily mean that all of the sudden the angels start to form in 3D. But if you ask each of the people completing the steps, I think they will give you some pretty good answers as to what has changed in their lives, how they have accelerated, or how things are (sometimes even just a little bit) better than before—from big to subtle changes.

Life is a continuous journey and as long as you’re here the road still lies ahead. Soul liberation might not be guaranteed for everyone but for those who feel the call, there are many opportunities to attempt.

You can go about it any way which calls you of course, but my advice is to find a guide who can help you navigate the landscape. It can take a long time otherwise to penetrate the initial layers, and it gets even harder once you start ascending to the peak. In India my faith in and my gratitude for my teachers greatly accelerated. These are seriously people worth paying attention to.

A SOUL EXPANSION

India Yatra, Part 1 — Going to India, Amritsar and Taking Amrit. INDIA YATRA PART 1 - GOING TO AMRITSAR, TAKING AMRIT

It’s taken me a little while to find the words to describe the last months… But ‘soul expansion’ is one that have stuck, and that I’ve landed with.

In the last months I’ve been to dark places and back again, and now—as less of a cliche as it can possibly sound—I feel like a phoenix slowly rising from the ashes.

In September I had a health crisis that sent me to the hospital, and left me with several weeks in bed, fighting different reactions, from difficulties breathing to a full body rash. It all started exactly at the Fall Equinox—you pay special attention when stuff like this happens on powerful alignment days. What I had planned to be a time of setting the stage for my life and business for the next months/years, instead drew my attention to more important issues, my health and well-being.

Of course it’s distressing when things like this happens, and especially as a yogi, and a yoga teacher, we take great “pride” in how we keep our body/mind system and we promote health and a healthy lifestyle. I used to think like that at least, but after the last months I can now truly say, with conviction, that NOTHING happens without a reason and everything—yes everything—is a blessing. Even if in disguise.

The experience sent me in a new direction, and also matured me way past what I thought would be possible in such a short time. I was teaching the DESTINY ACCELERATOR leading up to the Equinox, and had such a fixed idea in mind what my acceleration would look like. I got exactly what I needed, but in an unexpected form.

Cut to now almost a month and a half later, and the amounts of information I have around my health and how to manage (and eventually hopefully get rid of) my health conditions are immense. I feel better than I have in years, thanks to dietary adjustments, amazing healers and a “f*** it” attitude that helped me take some leaps, and bring the kind of courage you can only really get from overcoming and pass through real life challenges.

Before I get to the India trip, I want to round off this topic, and say thank you to those who reached out, and for the prayers and well wishes I received when I was ill. Knowing that there is a community out there who support me is everything. I want to encourage all of us to use, at least the spaces that I’ve created (I have two WhatsApp groups one for mothers/mothers-to-be and one for teachers and practitioners, that you’re welcome to join) to ask for prayers when we need them. We really have no idea what a powerful impact that can bring.

Alright, now on to India…

So of course, with everything happening with my health the big questions was what about my planned trip to India?

This was actually going to be my first time visiting India. I’d decided in the past not to go, because there was always so much pressure on making this trip, and I wanted to “do it right” (aka go with my teachers or someone who could open the space for me). It couldn’t just be a casual trip with friends.

Up until the last minute I wasn’t sure I was going to make it. I’d already gotten the ban from my doctor, on doing the steps of Goindwal (more on “the steps” in the next post), which was devastating as this was a big part of the trip. And with the cascade of symptoms and flare ups I’d experienced in the last weeks, I just wasn’t sure I was going to make it at all. But the day arrived and I was feeling okay and well enough to go. I had the security of traveling with my best friend and life companion (no he’s not my husband but still very much a partner) Benyamin, and yet another blessing on this path was that I got to go on this Yatra with him, and all (although we did missed some) of my RA MA family.

Amritsar isn’t far away. In my mind it was always like going to Japan (maybe it’s just the cultural distance?) but this part of India is very close to Europe, and a 3 and a half hour time difference (google the half hour haha, it took us several minutes to find out what was going on). It was easy and smooth. Not words I had heard in conjunction with traveling to India, so we were pleasantly surprised, and I felt that the energy of the trip was supported.

The Golden Temple in Amritsar (and the city around) was founded by Guru Ram Das. Now I could literally go on forever and this essay could turn into a discourse on Indian history, sikhism, and energetic streams, so I’ll try my best to keep it brief. The function of the Golden Temple is to transmit the sound currents of the Siri Guru Granth, a 14k+ pages collection in the form of a book, with songs written by enlightened masters, some 500 plus/minus years ago. The Golden Temple compound consist of the (rather small) temple in the middle surrounded by the sarovar, the water tank, and with marble walk paths all around + surrounding buildings and smaller temples. The whole structure is set up to broadcast and transmit the songs of the Gurus.

Within these songs are found many of the mantras that we use in our yoga practice, in Kundalini Yoga. The songs are for the transition of the ages, and they have and continues to help us usher in the Aquarian Age, and a new consciousness for humanity. The songs have the power to heal, to cure the mind, the body etc. and the collection is more than just beautiful lyrics—the Siri Guru Granth, besides being considered a living Gurur, is also basically a self help book. If you practice Kundalini Yoga you will know the power of these sounds, and you might have had your own profound experience with a mantra from the Siri Guru Granth.

Being in Amritsar the energy I was engulfed in can best be described as neutrality. When we first went to visit the Golden Temple I expected my nervous system acting up, as it always does when I’m excited, nervous or visiting some place I don’t know (this can happen to me even going to a new place in Palma, or an office that I haven’t been to before). Instead I just felt neutral. My nervous system was completely calm, my mind was still, and I felt a peace that I had never experienced before.

Besides the visual beauty of the Golden Temple (it’s a gold building! With white marble everywhere! Truly stunning), the most profound beauty met me whenever I would sit down somewhere within the compound and close my eyes or meditate. The sounds… Those sounds which are so familiar, which feels like guides, are met with visual impressions and in certain cases for me also with an out of body astral travel experience. It was wild in there. Yet peaceful—does that make sense?

When we practice Kundalini Yoga, and White Tantric Yoga especially, we’re looking for those moment when the Blue frequency / tantric energy will come in. At the Golden Temple that energy is constantly present. It’s a supreme place for healing on all levels. It’s a stunning beauty for all the senses. It’s a hub of life, with people from all walks, and it’s a portal to God and to peace.

Destiny would that something that I had thought about before traveling, but because of all the craziness with my health, I hadn’t really prepared for or planned for, would find me. Another reason why I now TRUST that everything—everything—is for a reason. If something is for you, it will find you. While we were there, the opportunity of taking Amrit, which is the Sikhs baptism ceremony, presented itself to me. I had taken Sikh vows years prior, and I have been living according to a Sikh lifestyle for years (I haven’t cut my hair, or any hair on my body, since 2016 fx). The Sikh vows are kind of like your “engagement” to the Guru (which are now the sounds of the Siri Guru Granth). The baptism is the commitment—the wedding.

As soon as the opportunity presented itself I had no doubt in my mind that this was the right step for me, and I started to prepare myself for taking Amrit at the Golden Temple.

When you take Amrit you become a Khalsa Sikh (Khalsa means “the pure ones”). It’s also called an Amritdhari Sikh. Your commitment is to serve humanity, to help hold the “naad”, the sound current of the Guru, and to live an elevated life, contribute to peace and to defend the truth.

As a baptized Sikh you commit to…

Rising before dawn and recite the 5 banis (songs)—this helps carry the sound into the world, because of the close relationship to them that you cultivate and hold.

You commit to never cutting your hair—this means that your radiant body can be to its full extension, and that you don’t doubt that God created you perfectly, as you are.

You commit to living a righteous life, free of intoxicants, and to stay faithful to your spouse etc.

You commit to wearing “the five Ks”—Kesh, uncut hair, which you cover with a turban (although for women there is no official requirement to wear  a turban, but I think it’s more of a cultural development). The Kara, a steel or iron bracelet, which symbolizes the eternity of God. The yogic technological explanation is that it protects against dark forces. Kasheras, underwear that covers the top of the thighbones. From a yogic perspective there’s a technology behind keeping the thighbones regulated and warm, for more energy. The Kirpal, a knife that you wear to be able to defend yourself and others from injustice. And the Kangra, a comb to keep your hair untangled, which also symbolizes keeping order in ones life, in general.

If the vows are broken you have to take Amrit again, and ask forgiveness from the Sangat (some people in our ceremony were there to take the vows again).

None of these vows were new to me, and I’ve upheld all of them for years—except for the deep daily commitment to the banis (I was listening to them though), and wearing the five Ks at all time (no knife, and not wearing a turban every day). When I called my husband to tell him about my plan to take Amrit, he asked me “what will change?” And I had to tell him “not much”. Because I was already living that life style. The only difference is the depth of commitment.

So now I said not much would change, but in fact so much changed for me after taking Amrit and there is a distinct “before and after” for me.

The Amrit ceremony itself is a whole other chapter, and I would love to share about it in depth at a later time.

One thing I was so grateful for was the timing. Being able to take Amrit in India at the Golden Temple, was beyond, and I was so grateful that Harijiwan was around—for his clarifications, and his blessing both before and after the ceremony. Religion can always seem quite dogmatic, but once you understand the thoughts behind and the technology, it gives the most profound meaning. He was absolutely instrumental in giving me the deeper meanings and understanding of what I was engaging in.

So one thing that I would like to clarify and mention, is that I’ve never ever been asked as a student at RA MA or as a teacher, to engage in Sikh religion. Sure, there are major overlaps in Kundalini Yoga, because of the merger of yoga with the sounds of the Siri Guru Granth, which happened in the meeting between Baba Siri Chand and Guru Ram Das, who exchanged their knowledge and Guru Ram Das is said to be the one “sitting on the throne of Raj Yoga”. Baba Siri Chand was the son of the first Guru, Guru Nanak, and he was a yogi (and was depicted with blue skin—maybe you’ve seen him before in pictures?) And Yogi Bhajan, who brought kundalini to the west, was also first and foremost a yogi, but he was also a born Sikh, and his teacher Sant Hazara Singh was also a Sikh.

But it’s important to note that Kundalini Yoga can 100% be practiced without any engagement in Sikh religion, and you don’t have to be a Sikh to practice or teach Kundalini Yoga, whatsoever.

Another added bonus and blessing of having landed at RA MA for me was that no one has every been pushing sikhism on me—quite the opposite, I would say. My teacher and mentor Guru Jagat, was not a Sikh and wasn’t fond of religious practices in general. Now I study with Harijiwan and Mandev too, who are amrithhari Sikhs, and also Gurujas, but none of them have every spoke to me about sikhism, except for the overlapping technologies we use within Kundalini Yoga. No one ever presented the option of taking Amrit to me. The journey I’ve had with Sikhism has been entirely my own.

So how come I decided to become a Sikh?

It was a soul calling and a knowing. The first time I went inside a Gurdwara I was overcome by a peace and an appreciation. I loved every minute of it, and would spend as much time as I could there. This was at the yoga festivals, where they would set up a temporary gurdwara, and for some years I would help out as a sevadar (cleaning the temple, helping at the services etc). I’ve also visited the Gurdwara in Palma on many occasions, and the granthi (Sikh minister) there even came to my yoga class once. I have always felt the call to go deeper into Sikhism, and have spent a great deal of time in my training learning Gurmukhi, read all the books I could find on sikhism, the Gurus, Sikh ministerial practices, Gurdwara practices etc. And of course I’ve watched countless Gurdwara services with Yogi Bhajan on library of teachings.

Although I have at times craved it, I’m glad that the formal aspects of sikhism was never pushed on me, or talked about at RA MA. Finding my way to it on my own has been my initiation, and what I need in order to know and with complete certainty say that this was my choice, and what my soul was longing for, and that’s why I chose to become a Sikh.

Only a few months ago, I had a conversation with my friend Benyamin, where we talked about bana (the Khalsa Sikh “dress code”), and I was saying how I knew that this would happen for me at some point, but I didn’t have the courage yet to fully commit.

Courage. Let’s stop at that for a moment. As Harijiwan explained to me: When you take Amrit there is no difference between your radiant body and the radiant body of Guru Gobind Singh (the 10th Sikh Guru who created the Khalsa order). Guru Gobind Singh was a soldier saint, and fought many battles. One thing that a distinctly noticed after taking Amrit was the rise in courage and protection that I felt all around me.

There’s so much more I could say on Sikh Dharma and living according to the given guidelines. But for now I will just say this: being a Sikh is an offer for a structure in ones life that can maintain and build the energetic field. The commitment to the daily practices + how to manage the bana, including the five Ks, work as a constant reminder to be rooted in honesty and truth. For me it absolutely works. It’s not always practical, and it hardly fits the streams in our current culture, where the only commitments we want to make is to our every whim, and “how we feel” in every given moment. Keeping a structure for one’s life (so Saturnian) means setting up barriers that leads the energy in a certain direction, which gives a more powerful flow.

And commitment is the first step to happiness (you can google it, the seven steps to happiness by Yogi Bhajan).

What do you want to commit to?

What you commit to builds your energy and your auric projection.

You become your habits, so choose them wisely.

Don’t let your habits be random or determined by your subconscious struggles.

Let them be conscious.

Follow them.

Commit.

And see how your caliber change.

THE INFINITE / FINITE BALANCE

The Fall Equinox is a powerful time in the year. There’s an opportunity here for greatly accelerating your timeline, and take leaps forward in life.

If you use the energy correctly, on these kind of days you can skip parts of your journey that would otherwise take you a really long time to travel (one mantra that we use for example can help you skip forward 250 lifetimes).

The real opportunity here is to meet your destiny

Destiny to me is not a destination, but a way of life, and it’s about aligning yourself with the deeper calling of your soul.

We humans live in a “finite” world. We feel confined and separated most of the time (our minds work in contracts, and so does our eye sight by the way). We have so many functions that dissect and separate. That’s fine, and they serves a purpose, but not when we overly identify with them.

We often meet in life this feeling of loneliness, which brings about it competition, comparison, feeling like we aren’t cared for, like we have to do it all ourselves, like there isn’t enough for us, like we are missing out and we need to fight for our survival.

When we feel this way we are identifying too much with the finite qualities of life, and we’re forgetting that we are actually infinite beings—souls—that are just visiting this place for a short time.

Our true nature is to feel included, connected, taken care of, nurtured, like it is all possible and that anything is available to us (which is for us).

There’s a greater plan for each one of us

Have you ever had a moment of complete synchronicity, like the whole world is filled with waiters that just comes by at the right time and hand you exactly what you need at that particular moment? Sometimes you didn’t even know that what you were handed was exactly what you needed, but it all just lines up.

That’s the kind of flow and ease that destiny brings. Plus a deep sense of trust, knowing and feeling like you are taken care of.

That happens when we move out of the finite identification and into the infinite identity.

What blocks us?

Many of us are running programs that were installed in us by society or our parents, based on fear and scarcity.

The general energy current on planet earth right now is heavy—we’re living in what’s called the Kali Yuga, or “the Dark Ages”, so most people will identify with the lower frequency qualities of life (not lower in the sense of opinion, but literally a lower vibratory frequency, in terms of how fast the electric current is moving through something).

We humans just have to fight a bit harder right now in order to find that light and infinite existence. Maybe it’s all part of a greater plan? Maybe it’s just about the vibratory frequency? Maybe it’s all about human psychology and how we have developed and evolved over thousand of years? Does it matter? (I don’t think so, but I love to speculate…)

What’s important to remember is: That’s the game we’re playing.

You / your soul decided to come to this planet at exactly this moment in history, because it is more challenging to meet the infinite in the finite right now.

You’re taking one of the highest level “soul courses” there is. And you can succeed and pass + you will have something important to give and contribute with. Otherwise you wouldn’t be here right now, and you wouldn’t be reading these words.

Infinity mind

Our mind is a wonderful tool, a computer so to speak. But it consist of different layer, and not all thoughts and programs that we are running are noticeable for us (just like on a computer), some run in the background. Any thought that isn’t processed in the conscious mind, will move to the subconscious mind.

You’re running many programs that you might not be aware of, and some (not all) can be based on the ideas of separatism, fear and competitiveness. Those programs can block the connection with your soul, and prohibit you from being in touch with that part of you, because the soul does not know what fear and separation is. Those concepts only exists in the mind, and in the feelings and sensations we get from them in the body, through our nervous system, which is how we sense the world.

Being soulful

In an ideal scenario, it is our souls that are leading, guiding and moving us through life, and the mind, body + energy bodies will all obey to the commands of the soul. The soul it connected with the universal soul, and thus all becomes part of us. Our surroundings are synced up with the guidance of our soul, and therefore everything is a flow.

I don’t want to promise that that means everything is easier, or that we can just relax and sit back and do nothing.

That’s also not really the point.

The need to slow down and relax can stem from a dogmatic or reactionary ideal, and if truly in alignment with your soul, you just move through the world doing what needs to be done at exactly the right time and place—in a flow state.

The need to slow down, for many of us comes because we are moving so fast (in the wrong direction) that we can only hear our soul’s whispers when we get to a point of more stillness. Slowing down and relaxation can definitely be a starting point or an important step on the way to allowing the infinite id to come through us.

So how do we get in touch with the infinite within?

One thing we have to get is that leading from infinite consciousness is our natural state.

But because of how the planet works right now, only very few people are by themselves able to switch, or are born into a state where the infinite is primordially just flowing through, and where they automatically move through life in the destiny current.

I believe that’s why we have so many tools available in the Aquarian Age, and many are obsessed with finding exactly that which can bridge their finite existence with an experience of the infinite. And because we are moving towards the possibility of that flow to come through in a greater capacity, and we recognized that the world really need that right now.

Seekers

We are a world of seekers, and some don’t even have the language for what they’re seeking, but can just feel that sense of uneasiness, and dissatisfaction that runs underneath anything they do in life. That’s why we’re more easily distracted, or need different substances and substitutes for comfort.

We also see others who are obsessed with using wellness and spiritual tools as a way to fit in or to boost their ego/separate identification, with a motive rooted in fear and lack. That’s something we all have to honestly check in with ourselves on regularly, and ask…

Who am I doing it for?
What’s my motive for being “spiritual”?
Am I finding infinity in finite?
Am I really going in that direction?
Am I meeting my destiny?
Or am I still playing the game of separation in search for validation, instead of just living out my destiny, and do what I’m called to?

When infinity flows through

Regardless of how it is expressed and niched out—as an offer for mothers, to improve relationships, as a yoga class etc.—what I essentially do is help people bring that infinite flow into their lives. Sometimes in a big and profound way, and sometimes just to ease and take the worst of the pressure off.

I (and my colleagues and teachers) are using the yogic technologies as a way to remove the obstacle that living in a finite world brings.

There are many layers to how the technology works—by clearing the subconscious mind, open the connection to intuition, activating pranic channels, structural adjustments with postures that affect your physical body and energetic bodies that then begin to heal and create changes in your magnetic field, which repulses and attracts new situations in your life etc.

For some people even just knowing the structure of how it all works in this world, can sometimes be enough to create the shift needed for the flow of infinity to come through.

Most of the time the shifts are gradual, and sometimes it can be a “stop and go” experience. That’s fine, we each move in our own pace and to the speed which we are comfortable with (remember, we can’t just ditch the finite—that would mean dying or ascend). Moving towards your destiny has to be a holistic experience.

In order to align with our destinies and let that infinite flow through, we just need to “remove”.

What does the prosperity meditations do for example? They’re not adding anything, they’re simply taking away your fears and your phobias, and in doing so creating a different projection from you that people then begin to react to.

That’s how you start to change your world.

Removing that which doesn’t serve

This nuance is what many spiritualists who work with manifestation forget to tell you about. I don’t want to rule out the possibilities of drawing in exactly everything you personally want in life, but when it isn’t rooted in that infinite flow, and isn’t about living your destiny, I’m called to ask: what really is the point then? Do you need these things in order to live out your mission? Is this actually what you came here for? Is this purpose?

Many people get disappointed when they make their “wishlist” of manifestations and then nothing comes true. It just doesn’t work that way, and it’s also not very interesting.

You will get what is yours in life, if you can get out of your own way.

Your destiny is uniquely yours, and the way to it, is by opening to the infinite flow, and let it come through you into the finite world. You do that by removing the useless programs.

When that happens it is a very beautiful experience, it’s very satisfying and creative. That’s what living in dharma means. Being soulful is when you’re deeply rooted in and in touch with your soul’s language and expression, and nothing blocks you from showing up like that.

That’s when you start to attract the life you were meant to live. That’s living in destiny. And it’s not a destination but the moment when the enjoyment begins.

KEY CONCEPTS OF FERTILITY AND CONSCIOUS CONCEPTION

I’ll just go ahead and say it: women have been sold a lie! We have been told that our fertility naturally decline with age, and if you’re pregnant past 35 your pregnancy is even labeled as geriatric(!?)

In the yogic world we know that fertility is not determined by age but rather by a state. The womb can be opened in many ways, and there are many practices to help do so. Your connection to creativity also plays a big role, as there is no act as creative as creating a child.

Did you know that your fertile phase also extends past the time of your ovulation? This is known as the “lunar window”, and can be calculated by looking at the moon phase in which you were born.

Don’t believe me? I’ve seen women past the age of 45 getting pregnant, and I know women who have conceived at times when they didn’t think they were able to (and science would say they wouldn’t have been able to either), and others who have been told that they were infertile or would never have children only to become mothers after starting their kundalini journey (and I’ve even heard of a woman in our community who had an immaculate conception).

When your way of life is based on spiritual practices and principles, you’re in the habit of making the impossible possible. When you do this work you know that you can move the barriers and that anything can happen. This extends to the notions of fertility and conception too.

5 key concepts of fertility and conception

The Mothers Divine Course is based on a yogic philosophy and practices as presented in Kundalini Yoga, and bridged with and supported by science wherever possible (there are more similarities than you would think).

These 5 core concepts (out of 20—see the rest here) are the foundational views from which we will approach child birth education in Mothers Divine Course.

1. Fertility is a state not determined by age.

Whether anecdotally or mythological (remember Sarah in the Bible who became pregnant at age 90?), the yogis know that our age does not have to impact the state of our health. A yogi’s body ages differently, and we have a myriad of practices, from exercises, to breathe work and diet which can greatly help to positively impact your fertility.

2. Your fertile window can extend past your ovulation phase.

This is something I got really into recently, but I am super excited to share about fertility astrology in the course (it is not complicated at all, and you don’t need to know about all the signs, planets and houses to calculate this for yourself or others). When I first heard about the possibility of increasing your chances of conceiving based on the lunar phases, I was very skeptical. Now I’ve researched it and read many accounts and I know that this is a real thing (I also have a friend who became pregnant during her lunar window, at a time when she wasn’t supposed to be ovulating).

3. The parents state at the moment of conception determines the "baseline frequency" of the child.

Everybody has what's called a “baseline frequency”. This is the frequency which you can never “go under”. Emotions and states in the body creates a frequency within us, and the yogic practices are meant to help elevate that frequency. But did you know that you as a parent can set your child’s baseline frequency? This happens if at the moment of conception you are healthy and in an elevated + conscious state (and feel really sexually good and fulfilled).

4. "Conscious Conception" is when a soul chooses its mother, rather than it being by chance.

It is said that on the 120th day the soul comes into the mother’s womb. Did you know that there are 25.000 souls per square yard? During the 120th day of a “regular” pregnancy any soul can jump in and start to inhibit the womb. But if you are a meditative and conscious woman, a soul can “reserve you” way in advance. You might even have felt that? Maybe there is a soul hovering around you, or you have had visions or dreams about a child who wants you to be their mother? That is a known as a conscious conception. It can also mean planning meticulously the actual act of conceiving, but not necessarily. Sometimes the soul finds their way to you in a way that seems more “random”. It’s all sacred and you will know.

5. "Light Conception" is when celestial beings assist in bringing through another light being soul. This might happen in the form of an immaculate conception.

This is an interesting concept that I have researched and studies quite a bit. Not that an immaculate conception (pregnancy without intercourse) is my goal, but a light conception can also happen at the moment of conception with an intercourse. “Light conception” is the light work of bringing through very high beings onto this planet. Sometimes these highly sensitive and high frequency beings cannot last, and light conceptions can possibly lead to miscarriages. I believe this is one of the reasons why we see more and more miscarriages in the last years (many factors but this is one). Many light beings are coming through or they’re trying. Sometimes a miscarriage can lead a woman to change her path, approach the next pregnancy with even more prayers and reverence, and that is when the being is able to come through. We need these light beings to help usher in the new humanity. Light conception is a key concept I hope we can understand and learn more about this year in the course.

MOTHERS DIVINE COURSE starts next Sunday, September 3, 2023 with a full day of training (replays will be available for those who are unable to join live).

You can drop in for module 1 if you have a specific interest in the fertility and conception teachings only. Should you decide to join the full course later your payment will be subtracted from the full course price.

Your life is lived through your human vessel. If you want to travel unhindered you have to understand the mechanics, and you’re best off to become your own mechanic too. You will have to know how to adjust something, when to break, and when to go full speed ahead—just like when driving a car. This require essential skills of self regulation. You need to know when and how to fix the problems that might arise along the way, and to take good care of the machinery.

A car is useless if it’s always on break, it can’t go anywhere. A car is dangerous if it’s alway speeding. A car is dangerous to drive when something is off, or not working. We have to be able to know when something is off in ourselves, how to adjust the speed with which we move (speed is excellent when the road is clear, and very dangerous when it is not), and most importantly how to flow with ease through the different spectrums.

It’s so easy to get caught up in collective narratives like “only hard work pays off”, or that by rejecting “doing” altogether we have somehow found freedom. We’re forgetting that we can simply move between it all. When we know that there is no situation that we can’t move into or out of. The problems in life always arise when we respond inappropriately to the situations in front of us, and this usually comes from inflexible convictions or a lack of energy and maturity, then we try to escape and avoid. But real freedom comes when we can show up for anything that we are faced with, with ease and with grace.

I am aware that the notion of the body as machinery should be viewed with some caution, because it has gotten us into many trouble in the past—from how we approach health in the medical system to how we treat babies and children like something that we can control and fix with generalized methods.

Living according to generalizations doesn’t work. Nor does looking at the physical body only. We have to take into account all ten bodies, and we have to take into account individuality, and be able to approach each person and situation individually. The reason that we make generalizations is to save energy. It’s normal and human to do so, but it gives an experience of living life in a sort of confinement—boxed in by our own and others rigid beliefs.

The tendency to avoid is also very normal and humane. We are wired for safety and comfort, and avoidance is often a response to a situation that we feel unsure or inadequate in. There’s many things in life one would want to avoid. The strategy is to avoid it before it even enters our field. If we can maneuver ourselves in a way that brings us what we need in life and helps us avoid that which isn’t for us, we are saving ourselves from many struggles and wasted energy. Once the thing hits our field, we have to know that we are capable of dealing with it.

That’s what a spiritual practice does—it helps to install that kind of protection and alignment. The effort you make when doing your spiritual practice saves you from wasting energy on misalignments. And it gives you the courage to face what’s in front of you, so even when you do encounter hardships, you don’t avoid or deflect. You are ready to face the challenges.

Basing our strategies for coping with life on those found in a spiritual system will also help save energy because instead of uncovering your existence from scratch you can picking up on where others left off. You can rely on thousand of years of information delivered through teachers, teachings and methods, that can adjust and perfect your own life experience very quickly. You are still responsible for what you’re doing of course, and you should test how the practices work for you. Dogma isn’t helpful. Neither is superficial and depthless efforts.

Having a spiritual practice that you can rely on is priceless, though it isn’t a guarantee that you can live life completely obstacle free. But when we know how to maneuver through them even the obstacles become part of the flow. Then everything is either a blessing or a challenge—and you can grow from both.

When we take responsibility for how we “drive our car”, when we understand how it works and when we have the right tools to adjust and regulate, our journey becomes so much more enjoyable. It’s the difference between feeling capable and successful and feeling inadequate and helpless. The struggles become an opportunity to grow and overcome, and the nectar of your efforts flow into every corner of your life, making it more meaningful, beautiful and graceful.

It all start with learning the mechanics and how to shift between the gears, so that you can generate more energy and present awareness—enough to face what comes at you, and receive your next move with clarity. That’s when you start to live life free.

How do you turn your jealousy into a tool for becoming more conscious? Here’s three strategies to overcome feeling jealous that’s worked really well for me.

Jealousy is a normal human emotion. It’s easy to get into. But it’s really not necessary to stay in that space, and there are easy ways out if it.

Jealousy is something many of us are familiar with and have to find a way to deal with. Especially with social media it’s a topic that often comes up.

Jealousy can look like wishing for what someone else has, criticizing someone or racking them down, or comparing yourself / hold yourself up against another person’s accomplishments.

SoMe only shows our lives in glimpses. It’s the polished and selective version of our lives. I don’t think the problem are the platforms themselves, it’s all about our relationship to it. I personally quite enjoy social media, and I think there’s great information and entertainment here, and also it’s an interesting activity to understand the different broadcasts, and the collective consciousness. As with everything, as long as I don’t get sucked in, but are able to use the technology rather than being used by it, this place for me poses no real problem, and instead becomes an opportunity.

But when dealing with issues like comparison and jealousy, social media can be hard to navigate. And I get it—and I’ve been there many times myself. So how do you turn your jealousy into a tool for becoming more conscious? Here’s what I have found works really well for me.

Three strategies to overcome feeling jealous:

1. Just drop it (ah, my favorite answer to every problem). Knowing that I don’t have to solve any of my problems, solves pretty much all my problems. The notion of “spiritual bypass” aka absolutely HAVING to deal with your feelings or emotions at the level of the emotion, is total BS. You don’t have to “solve” any of your problems, you can transcend the frequency, and you can decide to just not go there. How can something exist inside of you, if you decide that it doesn’t? I might have had a thought yesterday, but today I have a different thought. Being able to change the channel is one of the greatest spiritual hacks. Thinking that you don’t have that sort of power over yourself, limits your power over yourself. Simple as that. Just preoccupy yourself with something else. This requires energy and a clear mind, and a strategy so that you can “catch” yourself when the feeling arise. Generate enough mental strength and stamina to have the power to decide.

2. If you’re into the self psychology of it, you can approach your jealousy as a roadmap. Ask yourself What can I learn? What does the jealousy tell me? What does this person have that I’m imagining for myself, or that I feel might be for me? Change the emotion from jealousy to desire. Understand what part of it is drawing you in. Find ways to use feeling jealous to map out your future. If jealousy turns up for you in the form of criticism you might have to come to terms with the fact that you criticize because you’re watching someone else having something that you feel is really your right. Just identify what that is, use it to your advantage and to map out your next move.

3. It’s so easy to compare yourself with one tiny aspect of someone else’s life. When getting into a comparison spiral, always look at the totality of the other person who you are comparing yourself to. Would you want that person’s entire life? With all the history and the full journey to get to where they’re at? Chances are that you don’t want the whole person’s life at all. It’s so easy to take one thing about someone out of context. But just like you have spend your entire life making your way to where you are right now, someone else also have the life they have because of a series of events that all brought them to where they are now. Be grateful for your own journey. Look at all the things you have learned. Trust that you’re going in the right direction. What is for you will come to you. Trust that the universe gives you what is for you at exactly the right time in your life. Get into a state of gratitude for what you already have and have accomplished. Start co-creating with the universe and become conscious about where you want to move yourself.

WHY EXPERIENCE IS THE CURRENCY OF THIS AGE

You’ve probably heard this one before: We’re moving out of an era  where the ultimate power you could have was knowledge. But what does that mean?

Knowledge, and access to knowledge—and the hierarchy of who had access—was used to control people. Knowledge was a currency and the more knowledgeable you were, the more status you had.

Knowledge was also imposed on people in the form of moralization. “This is right to do, and this is wrong”. Having knowledge of, and being told what was right and wrong was a big part of the way humanity operated and navigated in the Piscean age (0 A.D. to 2012). That absolutely served a purpose and it assisted us in moving out of the Age of Aries, which was more about physical power and aggression as a way to gain influence (you can research history from around 2000 BC to 0 BC to understand more about the values of The Age of Aries). In order to “correct” this type of behavior, moralization had to be installed into the population so that people would start behaving in a more socially conscious way. Human life increased in value, and values of mercy and forgiveness (rather that cold blooded revenge) made an impasse.

Now we’re moving into the Age of Aquarius. We’re actually already in it as the shift happened in 2012 but as each age is about 2000 years long we are still at the very beginning. A lot of us felt this shift happening in 2012 as a sort of “awakening”. All of humanity can attest that things have drastically changed since then, and our lives and how we work and operate is completely different.

The Age of Aquarius is about experiencing, and we see that show up on a large scale now by first of all a decrease in moralization. Nobody can tell another person what is “normal” anymore (everything is normal). Nobody can tell another person what they should do anymore (freedom of own choice). And if anyone tries they will experience a pushback. Because moralization is now a thing of the past. “Being told” carries very little weight—what matters is the personal experience.

This shift is causing some confusing across the board, and we can see powers at play that are still operating under the old terms experience great resistance and push back—which results in them really trying to tighten their grip as to not loose any more power. Nature and the age does not support this type of behavior though, and as we make our way further into the Age of Aquarius things will have to change—new powers might emerge, or old forces get more “creative”, but we can lean on and trust that things will have to change for sure.

On a more personal level, how do we navigate life now if nobody tells us which way is the right one to go? Influence isn’t lost—we’re social animals after all—but this way of navigating “right versus wrong” just isn’t being absorbed by somebody telling you what to do. What influences now is living as a possibility for others. We are drawn to those who have experienced something that we can use for our own transformation. Or someone who is adapt at setting up a frame within which we can create our own learning experience, and develop our own inner compass.

Rather than directly telling someone what to do or “this is right, this is wrong”, interpretation of stories has become important. If we want to teach our children right and wrong we need to help them form their own decision making process. Anyone imposing knowledge on us in this day and age will experience backlash—it’s just not the time for that. So we need to find new ways of instilling values and moral compass. Sharing stories about other people’s experiences can be a way to help form our children’s minds so that they can rely on a pattern of an experience when they themselves encounter it.

An important thing to remember is that, wrong action and right action isn’t gone in the Aquarian Age—but they way it is being revealed to us has changed. The Piscean model was in many ways much more direct as it would simply say (moralize) when someone made a mistake, and oral and social guidelines were put in place for people to follow. It was socially acceptable to do so, but it also came at a great cost as the lower qualities of moralization come with oppression, and people of power exploiting their position as being the “holders of the truth”.

In the Aquarian Age, right and wrong is being revealed through your experience. That doesn’t mean that you are left to float around in the sea of the unknown—but it calls for a newfound responsibility, of being able to interpretate your experiences, and distill for yourself what is right and wrong.

Having that compass firmly installed and operating is crucial because nobody is going to tell you anymore if you’re running with 200km/h in the wrong direction. And you can’t tell someone either because you are robbing them of their own experience—and experience is the currency of this age.

Installing an inner compass that works, is what Kundalini Yoga is all about. Your inner knowing is enhanced by developing your intuition, your self-sensory system and by removing “distractions”— subconscious thought patterns, body malfunctions, brain fog etc.—and establishing a daily practice of Kundalini Yoga is probably your best bet to navigate the currents and waves of this time.

WHY MY LIFE IS ONE LONG THERAPY SESSION

Funny and catching title—good, now I have your attention. My biggest interest has always been, well, myself. I am deeply interested in how I work, how I function, and what my relationship to the world is. The modalities are my way to go deeper into this understanding. Because within me (and in you) is the whole universe. …

My biggest interest has always been, well, myself.

I am deeply interested in how I work, how I function, and what my relationship to the world is. Because within me (and in you) is the whole universe. I don’t even mean it in a cosmic “you are a star seed” metaphorical way (but sure, that too…) but literally, how we perceive the world is determined by our internal landscape, our beliefs about the world and the way we sense the world is through our own nervous system, and the codings of our neurology. The world is not outside of you, it is inside.

We don’t see things or experience things in the same way. For someone who grew up in a country (Denmark) that is socialist, and has a strong policy of equality, I had to first discover, that we are in fact not all the same.

Actually we are completely individual. We are all worthy—so if that is what you mean by equal then yes, I never question that—but we are not the same, and we don’t perceive things the same way or feel things the same way. Someone can go through a tragic event and come out on the other side with very few scratches, and others can go through a similar event and feel completely crushed. And what makes these differences, and understanding how my own self operates (physically, psychically and spiritually), is something that I am very very interested in.

I don’t mean to neglect the power of talk therapy with my analogy of “my life being one long therapy session” though—I know many people who have greatly benefitted from going to therapy. But we can adopt a way of looking at the world, and ask ourselves questions about it and how we perceive things, what do we feel and how we organize what we are sensing, so that we are constantly putting ourselves through similar processes as when seeing a therapist. This is a yogic teaching btw: that you are your own best therapist.

So every single moment of everyday, is my opportunity to learn something about myself. Every day is a day where I can work things out, go deeper into the study of Self, and through that, the study of infinity, as we are all part of that. I throughly believe in the one creator, and that EVERYTHING is part of creation and is sacred, always remembering, If you can’t see God in all, you can’t see God at all.”

The other day at the beach with David Ra I had another incredible lesson from life: we were building a sand castle, and I was focusing on building it high. Then David started smashing it from the top. My first instinct was “oh no”, and to tell him “see how we are trying to build it as high as we can?” And then I realized, he had smashed it down to build a bigger foundation. My small, yet high tower, wasn’t going to be very stable or very impressive, and would lack foundation for truly making a big sand castle. I was moving up too fast, not paying enough attention to creating a big enough foundation, for a tower that could truly stand. Instead David had knocked it down, and in doing so, he had created a bigger foundation from which we could then build. Quickly we built from that foundation a tower, that was far higher than the one I had attempted to make, and with a much more stable foundation.

You’ve already caught on the the metaphor here I’m sure, but let me just share what this experience gave me: sometimes we are so focused on going places fast, and we keep building and building in an attempt to reach higher and higher. But if the foundation isn’t solid, and if we aren’t building a big enough foundation, we can’t truly reach those high levels. It’s impossible to build a high tower without a strong foundation first, and just in the same way it is impossible for us in life to reach the stars without setting a solid foundation first. Our inner universe has to change first in order for the outside manifestations to come through, as above so below. And the bigger and more stable your foundation is, the easier it is to reach for those big experiences, and feel stable in your success when you reach it.

Ah, I love moments like this, and this is what I mean when I say that every single moment can be a therapy session. If you look at the world through the glasses of being a constant observer, ready to learn, ready to study, then even a trip to the beach can be a break through moment…

THE CONFIDENCE YOU GAIN FROM MAKING THIS CONSCIOUS CHOICE

I am all about taking our powers back by taking radical responsibility. I’ve said it before, and here I am saying it again. Because it is one of the greatest epiphanies I’ve had over the years: knowing that how I feel is 100% my responsibility. I am done with blaming outside circumstances, institutions, government, partner, family etc. for how I feel. I will no longer let my emotional state be dictated by other people. I will no longer let others be a source that can take away my energy and power. …

While this realization might have been a simple one to proclaim, it isn’t always so easy to live out. We are so schooled and conditioned, so part of the process, if you are not there already, is the work of freeing ourselves.

The main problem with blaming others for how we feel, is that then we are dependent on others for changing how we feel. If your inner emotional state is being wavered primarily by outside forces, then you will always be a product of what goes on around you. This means that everything outside of you is a potential “trigger”, and that you always have to manage circumstance and be in a “safe space” to feel okay.

Many people navigate life from this place, and even the words “triggers” and “safe space” are now in everyones awareness. I am not saying to NOT be discerning of who and where you place yourself. I am not saying to let everyone walk all over you and to not set boundaries. Being discerning and honoring your boundaries IS taking responsibility.

What I’m talking about is when we neglected setting our boundaries (which doesn’t have to be an aggressive act either, have you ever heard about the “slip and slide” move, or a quiet exit?) and then blame others for how that made us feel.

How you feel is no ones responsibility but yours.

If you are in a healing phase, and you are still finding the way back to yourself, figuring out how to not be compliant, or understanding what your boundaries are, this teaching can be immensely important. For people in this situation is can be useful to shield from situations, avoid triggers and seek only safe spaces—I totally and 100% want to acknowledge that. The first step towards navigating from a place of 100% responsibility of Self, is to first acknowledge that you stepped over your own boundaries. Even in the severest circumstances, I still think it is important to first accept that the power ultimately lies within each of us, as to not give away that important force to an outside source. When we acknowledge that we hold in the hand our power, and our future then is up to us.

We individually have a responsibility for how we feel, and if we feel violated, it is our responsibility to remove ourselves. Where we collectively have a responsibility is that we ALL have a responsibility to respect each others boundaries, and to encourage each other to feel confident in doing so. But you can’t control other people can you? So essentially it is up to ourselves.

Why do we give our power of self away to other people? Why can it be so hard to make that conscious choice of staying contained and in control of our own emotion and safety?

  1. We are so wired to seek approval, and thereby be granted protection by the group, that we will do almost anything to fit in and be liked. The group can be a safe space that protects us. And it can be an unsafe space that does not. While seeking refuge in the group might be a primal behavior, it isn’t one that guarantees us safety.

So, liberate yourself from the need to be liked. Heal the wounds of betrayal that you might have felt from those you thought were your safety, and build your safety from self-reliance and a safe place within.

  2. We are out of touch with our needs. If we have lost touch with what is actually for us, it can be so difficult to navigate life. Not being able to navigate from a place of authenticity and intuition makes it very difficult for us to make decision. We create doubt about ourselves. We might have made a few mistakes, and instead of owning up to it, and allow ourselves to feel and heal the pain of not having been able to take care of ourselves, it is easier to blame outside circumstances and people.

Liberate yourself from the herd mentality. Get in touch with the soul space within you, and understand what life is truly for you. Don’t be afraid of letting go of what no longer serves. Anything you loose by being real wasn’t true to begin with.

  3. We carry a lot of childhood wounds (also known as subconscious patterns). It isn’t exactly easy to set your own boundaries when as a child most of us did not experience that our boundaries were respected. Children deal with their boundaries not being respected all the time, and it is mostly because the adults doesn’t have enough energy or time to deal with the situation differently and encourage cooperation. And once again: This is not about blaming our parents. Our parents did the absolute best that they could, with the level of energy and awareness that they had. When we blame our parents we reinforce the feeling of helplessness we had as children, and we once again miss the opportunity to utilize our power of taking responsibility for ourselves. Just grow up <3

You are responsible for how you feel. You are responsible for how you respond, you are responsible for setting boundaries, you are responsible for your life. No one else is going to do it for you, and you don’t want them to either. The power lies solely within you. Isn’t that liberating? You have a choice in the matter. You decide the direction and the actions you take. Having that power gives you more power. And making the choice to take radical responsibility will give you more confidence.
